lol. Like someone has that much inside information to know the teams that have contacted the Flames about the Iginla and even exact offers from each team.

I think you mean the last one which is ok I think, but if you mean the 1st one that would be an overpayment by the Leafs.
I am suggesting the last one... If I ever use "/" it means "this or that."

I would personally want Scrivens + 2nd. Although we have solid goaltending prospects, until we have a verified number 1, I want more depth. If we develop a bunch of studs in net, great! We can trade them.

The Boston offer really isn't that outrageous, it just doesn't make a ton of sense for the B's to lose Horton for their playoff run. Horton is a upcoming UFA, and if the Bruins resign Iggy, maybe they let Horton walk to make room. However I think they would want both for the playoffs.

I think the most telling thing is just how quiet the Flames are being about this. The little leaks that have come out are setting what the asking price will be. It gives me a little more faith that Feaster isn't going to screw this up and they are taking their time to make the right deal for everyone involved.

My gut says he goes to Pittsburg, but I can see Boston because Weisbrod knows those guys and they are a very strong team.

Iginla to BOS for R.Spooner, C.Söderberg, 2013 1st
Stempniak to PIT for D.Jeffery, 2013 2nd
Giordano to PHI for M.Read, S.Laughton, 2013 2nd
Cammalleri to CHI for B.Pirri, 2013 2nd
Kipper for TOR for N.Kulemin, 2013 2nd
Sarich and Comeau to whoever is looking for size (and there will be) for late round picks

Tanguay Backlund Hudler
Baertschi Söderberg Read
Glencross Stajan Kulemin
McGrattan Pirri Spooner
Jeffery

Brodie Bouwmeester
Breen Wideman
Butler Smith

MacDonald
Taylor

CGY 1st, BOS 1st, PHI 2nd, TOR 2nd, CHI 2nd, PIT 2nd.

Soderberg, Spooner, Read, and Pirri are all NHL-ready and can contribute rightaway, while we can realistically stockpile 5 picks in the top 60.

Way too much coming back for Giordano and possibly Kipper as well. I really like Scott Laughton as a player though and I would consider him in a deal for Gio.

I actually don't hate a Kulemin for Kiprusoff frame work. Kulemin is only 26 and has scored 30 goals before. I do like his game and I think he is an interesting buy low candidate.

@SportsnetSpec: Just told Flames GM Jay Feaster sent an email to 29 GMs informing Anton Babchuk and Cory Sarich are available. Both have NTCs.

This made me laugh. Looks to me like Feaster will take pretty much anything for these guys.

Anton's NTC is gone at the deadline and Sarich bloes hopefully we can get a couple of late picks for them and bring up Breen.

If Pens just gave up Joe Morrow for the fringe third liner that is Brendan Morrow, new pricing on Iginla.

Boston: Spooner, Kokhlachev, 1st

L.A.: Toffolli, Bernier, 1st

Pittsburgh: Maata, Dumolin, 1st

Chicago: Tervainen, Saad

Still to much I think
Spooner + 1st + Bourque
Toffolli + Muzzin + Penner
Maatta/Despres + 1st + Niskinan for Iginla + Sarich
TT + 1st

But who knows yesterday I would have said Morrow would be lucky to get a 1st.

Maybe. Impossible to predict in this market .

My one concern: Pens pull out of the competition for Iginla (I'm assuming). We know L.A. and Boston are gunning for him but we have heard nothing out of Chicago, aside from they are on his list. If Chicago and Pittsburgh don't want to play, this leaves only L.A. and Boston in the running and if one decides to pull out, you're pretty much stuck with what the other is offering.

I don't think the Pens are put. Morrow is not that winger for Crosby, this isn't the Morrow of 4-5 years ago were talking about. He's excellent role player for s stretch playoff run. To me, this says that the Pens are loading up to win it all. I'm thinking Pouliot is gonna be in play now.

I believe 2 days ago there was a tweet about Chicago making a major push for Iggy.

This is crazy the latest is that Morrow got Morrow + 1st + another pick, if this is true we should move Iggy,Cammy,Gio, Stempniak we could seriously stock up our prospect pool to a level it has never been before competent

That seems extreme, but with the price Pittsburgh is alleged to have paid for Brenden Morrow, those seem almost like bargains.

As this kind of market, the Flames would be foolish not to sell off everything that isn't bolted down.

Yeah. Trade Iginla to Boston and turn around and trade Cammy to L.A.

Can you imagine,
Iggy for Toffolli + Muzzin
Cammy(at half the cap hit) for Spooner + 1st
Stempniak + 5th for Det 1st
Gio to STL for Cole + Rattie
We draft Barkov

Next year
Tanguay - Stajan - Toffolli
Hudler - Spooner - GlenX
Sven - Backlund - Rattie
Aliu - Bouma - McGrattan

Jbo - Brodie
Muzzin - Wideman
Cole - Butler

We instantly have a new core and can compete for the playoffs, god it is sweet to dream about

Hmmm... My fantasy plays out a tad differently:

Iginla to Boston for Spooner, Kokhlachev
Cammy to L.A. for Bernier, Forbort
Giordano to St. Louis for Rattie, 1st
Stajan for 2nd
Comeau for 4th

Draft: Seth Jones

Tanguay - Backlund - Stempniak
Glencross - Spooner - Hudler
Baertschi - Kokhlachev - Rattie
Bouma - Begin - Jackman

Bouwmeester - Jones
Brodie - Wideman
Butler - Forbort
Smith

Bernier
Kiprusoff
Ramo?

I would prefer to keep Stajan he has been great in his role this year as pker and shutdown center he would take alot of pressure off of Backlund/Spooner and Khok isn't nhl imo. Also Hudler hates RW no way he plays there. I would like to keep Kipper next year to play with Ramo as Ramo is a big Kipper fan and it could be a good way to bring him over. I also want to move Stempniak with so few sellers this year he could get us a first and the chance to get a player like Hartman, Mueller, Hagg is to tempting to pass up.

Outside of the 4th lines, both those lineups are terribly soft. Tons of skill, but not much size. Teams like LA, Phoenix (or Seattle) and Anaheim would have their way with them.

Flames may have to overpay someone like Clowe, Horton, LaRose or Clarkson (if by some miracle he makes to FA) a ton in the off season because there's not much in the system, or available through trade.

And in no way, shape or form, should the Flames accept Horton in a potential Iginla trade. Would be an absolutely horrible misuse of assets.

Very true but I would draft Barkov(gives us size) and in the draft I would take players like Gauthier,Hagg etc. I wouldn't be opposed to bring in a player like Horton
so we have

Tanguay - Stajan - Toffolli
Hudler - Spooner - GlenX
Sven - Backlund - Horton
Aliu - Bouma - McGrattan

Jbo - Brodie
Muzzin - Wideman
Cole - Butler

Wouldn't help them much next season though. And that lineup is still kind of small, and the defense looks ridiculously soft. Is Muzzin physical?

But I guess the Flames can't do much to fix the size issue within a single off-season. Next season could be a long one.

Team toughness is going to be tough to address. Maybe a guy like Arnold can make an impact early and maybe Ferland can find some form. Maybe guys like Breen and Wotherspoon can step into the bottom pairing.

And that is a ton of maybe's. It's either that or overpay in a trade / FA signing.

L.A. Laughs at that deal. The other 2 aren't bad but there is no way L.A. gives Bernier, who has been very good this year and outplaying Quick at times, and a former first round pick for Cammy. There is no way.
