So basically each case is different, depending on what the player agrees to?

Cool.

So the Flames can re-acquire Iginla's rights at the draft for a 5th round pick?

#Flames Jay Bouwmeester admits he and team have talked about possibility of a trade. Hearing as many as 6 teams interested in him.

Might as well trade both of them, to be honest. Bouwmeester has more value though; and might get that blue chipper that Iggy didn't.

And keeping Giordano will make it easier to tank.

With Feaster at the helm we are more like to get the colonel's original recipe then a blue chiper

Detroit has been the team that has been most mentioned, a guy like Nyquist or Tatar would be great

Feaster has with Bouwmeester what he didn't with Iginla - leverage.

He can take Bouw to the deadline and keep him if he doesn't like the return.

It SHOULD work out better for us in a return. A bidding war is already on.

#Flames. Also there have been inquires on Mark Giordano by other teams. Can't imagine #Flames trading him #nextcaptain

If we could get a good return for Gio I would be so happy.

I would be worried if I was Jaybo also. the guy has never see the post season, getting older and now on a team that is clearly not in the post season hunt (for some years). If he was smart, he should start drafting a list o Feaster also... just as long as its longer than a few teams.

Definitely.

Forget about blue chippers entirely. Figure out which prospects the Wings have in the NCAA, pick out the ones that sound the closest to 'owski', add a first and you've got a likely deal.

Way ahead of you they don't have an 'owski's' but they have 2 NCAA defensive prospects and they are their 6th and 9th best ranked defensive prospects, I think there is a deal here.

So Nick Jensen, Ben Marshall and a 1st. Sounds right up Weisbrod's alley.

per The Fourth Period

...Flames GM Jay Feaster will now focus on some of the other players he could possibly deal before the April 3 trade deadline.

Defensemen Jay Bouwmeester, Cory Sarich and Anton Babchuk, and forwards Alex Tanguay, Curtis Glencross, Lee Stempniak and Blake Comeau have all attracted the interest of several teams from around the NHL.

However, only Stempniak and Comeau are without no-trade/no-movement clauses, and the rest would need to give their stamp of approval before the Flames can finalize any trade.

Bouwmeester, Glencross and Tanguay could command the most from other teams, as they are each signed beyond this season.

The Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes have all inquired about Bouwmeester, while the Los Angeles Kings are reportedly interested in Tanguay.

Bouwmeester, 29, has already spoken with the Flames about the possibility of a trade, and he appears to be receptive to the idea, providing he's dealt to a contender.

Babchuk and Sarich are also open to a trade. In fact, the Flames have been trying to deal Babchuk for some time. It's unclear if Glencross and Tanguay are willing to accept a deal out of town.

Meanwhile, goalie Miikka Kiprusoff could also be on the move. While he has indicated that might not report to a new team, if dealt, two separate sources close to the veteran netminder have told TFP that he would be open to a move to a Stanley Cup contender.

Kiprusoff does not own a no-trade or no-movement clause, but cited personal/family reasons as to why he might not report to a different club.

Found the bolded and underlined parts interesting.

- Didn't expect to see Carolina in on the JayBow sweepstakes
- First time i've heard Tanguay's name mentioned with LA
- Two sources confirm Kipper would be willing to move to a contender

Not surprised on LAs interest in Tanguay being that Sutter acquired him twice during the time he was in Calgary. Without Iggy I wouldn't be surprised if Tangs moves on as well if given the opportunity. Im sure there's alot of interest in Glencross but I don't really see him moving. I think Detroit will make the biggest pitch for JBo and im quite interested in what kind of a return we could get from them. I do expect a couple more names to be moved so April 3 should be interesting.

I feel as though glencross will not waive his NTC with his ranch and love for the city, etc.
Tanguay i figured would be one of the few to stick around, but if we can get somthing decent for him, im all for it.
Giordano im in favour of moving, should still receive a solid package in return.
Bouwmeester im hoping we dont trade. If the offer is tremendous then okay, but i'd like to see him stick around.
Stempniak, Comeau, Sarich, Babchuk; get whatever you can for them.

Would you do this trade? (Jay-Bo involved)

Habs first round pick in 2013 + Nathan Beaulieu + Ryan White for Jay Bouwmeester?

I think we could get a little more for Bouwmeester.

I know Beauliieu was considered a top prospect at one point but I I'm not sure how he has been in his first AHL season thus far.

If you want Bouwmeester, I'd imagine you have to overpay a bit. The Flames don't need to offload him like they did Iginla. There's always draft day and there's always next year's trade deadline. With the way he is playing right now, I want a little more back, even if Calgary has to eat some of his cap and salary.
