That said, Jarmo said at the time that had Tarasenko been an North American kid he'd have been right there with Taylor/Tyler for top-pick consideration in the 2010 draft.
Stupid poll: good canadian guy from a big market team will win... As to who will be better it's hard to say. I won't be amazed if Tarasenko outscore Seguin this year. But will it mean he's better? Tarasenko's role on Blues is to score. Seguin on the other side isn't a primary scorer on his team and gotta do a lot of things. And if he'll do them well and Boston will play well, then who cares whether Tarasenko outscore him or not.
I'll say Seguin because he's got a head start in the NHL and he's on a pretty deep team offensively.
Deeper than Blues? As to head start, Tarasenko, as it's obvious now, has been playing not in some bear league as well. Right now he doesn't look like a lucky rookie who gets all those points by coincidence. He plays hard on a very hard playing team.

Seguin is predominately playing wing right now correct? If so, and he stays at wing, I'd vote even. If Seguin starts playing center full time I would vote in his favor.
Thrown on the ice with some grizzlies... Goalies have a little more padding but other players are fair game for the bears to hunt. Send people like Torres out there to do a cheap headshot to bear who maul too many players.

I feel like if it's in the KHL the bears have a disadvantage on the ice.
They are going to be playing very, very different roles.
The Blues have one of the most, if not the most defensively sound roster in the NHL. What they lack is an offensive difference-maker, and that's where Tarasenko comes in.
The Bruins have unbelievable scoring depth on the other hand. They score in bunches, and have a team full of players who pot goals, hit people, and backchek hard, and that's exactly what Seguin will be doing.
So depending on what you want, they could both be better then the other. I'm gonna say even.
Tarasenko is off to a great start but keep in mind that he's only 9 DAYS into his NHL career. A lot of players have done some great things in 9 days. Hell, Seguin had 10 goals in 9 games last season.
