[QUOTE=gusfring;61432029]Underachieving team.
Poor record since January against playoff teams.

Happens to co-incide with injury problems. Unless PG sees a Witch Doctor for a medical miracle I don't see them getting out of this series.

Agree completely on Dorval as Coach and Clarke as GM of the year. Though Brockville's turn around deserve honourable mention. They could be a real dark horse for playoffs.

Playoff Prediction Time

Ottawa in 5 over Hawkesbury, too much depth on Sens but Guererro steals one
Carleton Place in 6 over Bears, too big and strong for the Bears
Cornwall in 5 over Brockville, too much firepower for the Braves defense
Nepean in 7 over Pembroke, closest of the series but Raider experience will prevail

First we need to see where and when Nep/PLK play their first game, look like an issue as to who is in 4th place.
No matter Kings in 6

Not much to argue with there.

They both have 38 wins but PLK wins head to head (usually second tie breaker) 4-2. Are they looking at OTL/SOL?

That's news to me! I heard on Saturday, from Nepean, that they were fifth. They healthy scratched players on Sunday because they thought it was a meaningless game. Very Interesting....................

Not sure what injuries people are talking about. Hodgson is the only one I know of who is injured, and he may be back soon.

All games between PLK and Nepean have been removed from the CCHL website.

You know, I always wondered why we have a column for OTL and a column for SOL. Either way the other team gets 2 points and you get 1, so why bother with the 2 columns and just have OTL, who cares if it is shootout or not. Maybe it does matter, Pembroke lost in OTL once, Nepean went to shoot-out every time is that an advantage for Nepean??

If someone knows why, we keep the two columns, I would love to hear it? What difference does it make statistically?

In the league standings it has nepean ahead of pembroke, and in the playoff brackets it lists pembroke as the 4th seed....

OJS in 6
Cornwall in 7
Smith Falls in 6
Nepean in 6

not again

I can remember when it was game 7 for nepean in finials and they took the ice out and they had to play in Kanata and they lost. This is not good for parents that have to book flights and travel to the games when nepean doesn't no what is up with there ice. That is how much they care for the team in nepean.

Does the CCHL not use ROW as a tiebreaker?

Pembroke only won one shootout, whereas the Raiders won two. Therefore, Pembroke would have 37 Regulation or Overtime Wins, and Nepean 36.

1st Tie Break should be wins. If it's tied, should be head to head?

Why would there be any other way?

[QUOTE=gusfring;61432029]Underachieving team.
Poor record since January against playoff teams.
Most trades, FA pickups have failed.

QUOT

im not sure they are under achieving, I think people expect them to do what they did last year thats a bit unfair, if you look at the pieces they lost from last year they were massive holes to fill. Simply they are not as good as last year.To be 6 points out of first place overall though cant hardly be called a disaster

Pembroke was able to reload year after year because of deep pockets and a great recruiting pipeline. But I think that door is shutting because every team ( or most) are recruiting extremely hard now . Its a battle for every recruited player now

A lot of leagues ignore shootout wins when using wins as a tiebreak though. The NHL and the Major Junior leagues, for example.

Your shootout wins get you an extra point that puts you in a position to be tied in the first place, but the advantage should be given to teams who've won more games in regulation or overtime.

Hey stickhandle, is Nepean the 4th seed or the 5th seed?

Should of, would of, could of
Everyone agrees head to head should be the tie breaker, but that doesn't mean it is the tie breaker.
Who knows for a fact, it is the tie breaker or Nepean's fifth.
