Sbisa back to Philly

Does a deal which sends Sbisa back to Philadephia have any possibility of happening? Anaheim has some young defenders that can step up and take his place (Lindholm and Vatanen when healthy). The Flyers need a mobile puck mover and can't afford to sacrifice the future.

Something like

Matt Read

for

Luca Sbisa

Not at the moment. He's an important part of our future blue line, and we have no one that's able to step in and take his place. We would need something bigger to make us budge.

"The Flyers need a mobile puck mover and can't afford to sacrifice the future."

So you offer, Matt Read age 26 and second year in the NHL.
for Luca Sbisa, a defensemen who is predominantly known for his stay at home defense and massive hits.

Perhaps you are mistaking matt read and luca sbisa for their alternate universe counterparts where they have different ages and skillsets?

Read seems to be the flyers Mason Raymond now.

Couts or Schenn would be the likely asking price for Sbisa. We have a lot of wingers, but not enough centers.

Read can play center, but long term I think Sbisa is the one of the two we'd need more.

I just think Sbisa would be a bigger component of our success than Read would.

Attempting to undo the Pronger trade and pretend it didn't happen won't do much good

I don't get it. Sbisa is a good skater and plays a nice transition game. Also he's younger than Read.

Nobody's pretending it didn't happen. Your post is pointless.

Flyers wouldn't do it for B. Schenn or Couturier. Ducks wouldn't do it for Read. I would love Sbisa back here but I wouldn't give up whats required.

That is the entire problem here isn't it?

The only player I'm trading Brayden Schenn or Couturier for on the ducks is bobby ryan or cam fowler. Granted it'd take more but you get my point. I'd rather go after bobby in 2015. I feel if he is a UFA that summer, there's no reason to believe he doesn't have us as his number one landing spot.

Not really. I'm not obliged to understand a post that makes no sense.

Very enticing, but I'm not too sure I'd be up for it. It's definitely a fair trade no matter what some flyer fans will say, but the fact that we can take a run at Bobby in a few years really doesn't make a lot of flyer fans want to give up assets to obtain him. Plus that other guy Perry is slated to become a UFA this year

Would something around Johansson from the caps be enticing?

Not even close considering the current circumstances for the Ducks.

The asking price for Ryan last year was Schenn+Coturier. Why would w edo that and add Sbisa in there?

Not true at all. It was believed to be based around only Schenn.

Wrong. It was both. If it was just around Schenn it would have been done.
