not sure if you guys that Scott & Thornton have a small history to add to the buildup before the game.
Last season (or the season before, cant remember) Shawn Thornton was cut by a skate over his eye (on his forehead) during a game with Chicago. On his way back to the bench (to go to the dressing room) he was chirped by the Chicago bench.
Thornton flipped out and refs had to intervene. Thornton had choice words after the game for the Chicago bench and Scott was asked for a response. He pretty much just said "let him chirp at me, I'll kick the **** out of him" .
Im sure you guys already knew this, thought i'd swing by in case any didn't. I also believe this is the first game that these two could be on the ice since that incident.
Yes i remember that game and watched the following time they played with expectations of something. However Thornton challenged Scott 2x in the rematch and Scott didnt fight him. Then last year Scott on NYR tried to fight Thornton of the draw when thornton had multiple more stitched in his forehead, and thornton didnt go, instead Rupp and Macdermid went and had a good fight.
