An exciting loss is definitely better during the game, but I'll take the boring win all day

We better start converting on 5 on 5 chances because the powerplay has looked like ass over the past two games (the Yakupov goal notwithstanding).

Aside from Eberle, that first line has been crap so far this season. They need some sort of shakeup.

No one is hating him. He's had a very strong game. The Couture goal was just a mistake.

If his angle was perfect it wouldn't have gone in. Given his size and talent he should only be getting beat be perfect shots (Couture's wasn't), deflections, and when he is forced to move laterally.

Yakupov, Gagner and Eberle have 10 of the team's 18 goals. It's early but that's frightening.

EDIT: And one of those 18 goals is a shootout goal so we actually have 17.

Why do we try harder against better teams but barely show up when we play Calgary?

Hall's leading the team in scoring. What more do you want?

Meant the first two lines. The best 3rd/4th liner have 2 points, and horcoff is not even playing... This team = No offensive depth.

Eberle's had probably his worst game of the season tonight. It might be his worst game since his rookie season. He's frustrated and is trying to force everything.

Glad to see krueger calling the timeout earlier this time around rather that letting the sharks light us up for five in ten minutes. Proud of the boys for pushing back and answering with a goal. We need to improve on our faceoffs if we're gonna get the equalizer. Faceoffs are the weakest part of Nuge's game IMO

I feel the same way. The last couple years it was hope and pray. This year I feel we are still in the game and not just hanging in there..

The Oilers have always played to the level of their competition for a while. Played Cgy like they were last in the Western Conference and got beat by a hungrier team.

maybe it's just so disgusting to play Calgary that nobody wants to get too much involved in this unpleasant process?

They're playing him pretty hard. He has lit them up in the past and it looks like they're sick of it.

Hemmer's never been a Yakupov when he's had the puck. He always has a kind of lackadaisical posture when he has possession. I see him doing a solid job back-checking and I haven't seen any glaring turnovers coming from him either.

Not getting the hate.

The kid line needs to produce or be broken up. If we're calling out a forward in this game, it's Eberle. He needs to make better passes.

The thing with Hemsky is that even if he's hustling, I don't see a player who makes his linemates better.

It is all in the plan. Don't want the (f)Lames to totally fall off the cliff. Give them some hope so they trade their prospects and stay a bubble team

Pretty angry with Pavelski celebrating his goal like he did. What is he thinking pumping his arm like that? He should try to act like he has scored before. He clearly went out of his way to embarrass the Oilers by celebrating like that.

Seriously though I think the Oilers are not doing too badly. I was halfway expecting them to get run out of the rink tonite.
