It's bad when I can't remember the last multigoal W. We are just incapable of blowing teams out these days. If we do win, it will be another close one.

Remember that game when we injured a bunch of Leafs? That was fun.

"Blowing teams out"?! Really? Somebody's definitely blowing...
At this point i'll settle for any kind of W.

I feel for Oates. Your big opportunity to establish yourself as a HC and you're saddled with a shortened season and a team whose success hinges largely on the play of a complacent superstar.

The system looks more promising with each game. I hope management gives him his shake.

I think it is a must win unless at some point they plan on reeling of an incredible winning streak. Since they are all conference games you can't count on a team to take a West Coast road trip and drop a few. They don't win tonight I think it looks grim.

Well if the Caps pull of a 3 game win streak, that puts them at 9 points in 9 games. Considering the bad start, very respectable.

Ottawa has lost Spezza for basically the rest of the season, so that helps. No way Tampa can keep up the pace of their scoring, especially considering a rookie is a big part of it.

Is it Conacher? Because if so, in a short season like this one, I think he could produce more than expected. Hopefully (for them) he'd hit the wall at about when everything is over anyway.

It happens every year. Breakout year!! Then law of averages catches up and people forget about the hot start.

Semin 18G in 27 GP. Backstrom finishes 10-11 with 35 points in 50 games.
