I like this. Given the situation for the Avs (injuries, travel, back to back etc), the Flames *Should* win. Irving would get a win and gain confidence.
Exactly. But it's moot anyways, Kipper is starting every game anyways.
Kipper gives the Flames a better chance to win than Irving. Especially when he has been rested for four days and coming off a win.
Yes but Kipper will always give us a better chance to win, Irving has to play sometime this might be the easiest opponent we face for a long time it would be good to give him the easy ones when Kipper shouldn't be as needed.
I actually have liked Tanguay at center he isn't bad at the faceoffs and looks like he knows where to be defensively plus being a playmaker at center it is abit easier.
He hasn't been bad, rather, I just think a Tanguay-Backlund-Iginla line has the potential to be effective.

I don't necessarily think Irving has to play sometime. Maybe I'm crazy.
Unless Landeskog is giving a speech on the level of King Theoden at the Battle of Pelennor Fields in the Avs dressing room, I think it's likely that the Flames win. They looked flat against the Nucks.
I don't think Landeskog is playing tonight. (read it on the Avs board)

yes but then who is our 2nd and 3rd line center? I still don't think Cervenka is ready for center it leaves us weaker in the top 9.
Like I said, not until Cervenka feels comfortable with the pace of the NHL, likely in a couple of weeks. And Stajan would still be the 3rd line centre.

Irving will have to play sometime but he should exclusively be playing on back-to-backs, not when Kipper has just had four days off.
Back-to-backs are when the value of playing your back-up is highest, because Kipper would have less energy. There is no added value to playing Irving tonight, because Kipper is rested and points against the Avalanche count for the same as points against any other team, even if they are having a tough go lately.
Resting Kipper tonight for the sake of getting his GP down is useless, because he's not tired. That rest he gets now is not transferable to when he needs it more later. When you start Irving tonight all you do is lower our chances to win without saving Kipper energy now or in the long run.
