For some reason I thought of Sandstrom first. Never really saw Kehoe play, but figured Sykora would pop in my head first. I did love me some Sandstrom though.

He's basically Tangradi but a lot smaller & a little faster.
More like Sterling with half the hockey sense.

Those 4'9" players are small but sandpaper tough.

I think it's because you spelled "Straka" wrong.

It's "B-A-D-A-S-S"

Marty Straka used to be one of my favorite players. Is he still around?

He's played the last few years (and is also GM and co-owner) for HC Plzeň, his home town club, in the Czech Extraliga. He last played in the NHL for the 07-08 Rangers and actually managed 14+27 in 65 games.

One of my former Penguin favorites, too. Long live the KLS line.

I still blame that on Milan Kraft.

Didn't Hedberg hit him with his stick on a clear after he came back? Guy had the worst luck.

HA! Yup.

Broke his orbital bone (pretty badly... like there is any other way) the first game he came back from injury.

Someone on the main board was talking about him becoming our 4th line center. I threw a hockey puck through my monitor and it hit him in the head.

You were right to hurt him.

My spider sense says Fleury or Orpik, but I just had Mexican food so it could just be gas.

Lots to love in this thread, from the obvious snark to the under appreciated asset-management comment.

I like this free winger thing, though. When does Vancouver waive Kassian?

Boychuk has not exactly showed anything that gives us hope that he is a solution. However, he does have some talent and draft pedigree, so I suppose it is one of those moves where we could get lucky.... just not easy to see where he gets the chance to suddenly shine.

Malkin's line... well, not knowing much about Boychuk's game, on paper it isn't obvious why he is a better solution than Tangradi and Jeffrey. But we will see.

dreger on nhl network on boychuk:

thinks was acquired for top six look because lf skill and speed. says knock is that he is perimeter player, so the "bylsma player" theory is not correct. this was shero's choice.b
