So the message is play well, get scratched for waiver wire fodder. Nice.

I don't care how well Boychuk does, this is a dick move.

If Boychuk fits in with Malkin and Jeffrey loses his spot in the lineup, it is BS.

So many on here talk about young guys earning their spot, Jeffrey does, then gets booted for Boychuk.

Again, I just don't care for it.

Just my opinion.
Last night wasn't Jeffrey's first foray into the top 6. He has gotten looks with Malkin before, and while last game he looked good, I don't think that means you've earned a permanent spot on that line. How could he, when he hasn't even earned a permanent spot in the lineup?

How would you suggest he earns a permanent spot?

Being scratched after playing well definetly means you don't have a permanent spot in the lineup.

Seems like everybody here wants Tangradi, Jeffrey, and Vitale to play every game. It's just not realistic.

I can only imagine the anger Bylsma would trigger if he had a talent like Seguin or Larsson and scratched them / bounced them around the lineup the way Julien and DeBoer have. We're talking about Dustin Jeffrey and Eric Tangradi ffs.

I'll wait until Beau Bennett arrives before indicting this coaching staff on account of not giving young talented players enough of a chance. The Boychuk experiment to me indicates they are willing to give young players an opportunity, they just don't have confidence in their current group. It's hard to blame them.

I agree, I thought he looked good. Can't wait for him to get a couple more games in and see where he's at.

Was at the game. Got to key on Boychuk. As I thought he looked his best when paired with Crosby. Seems to have a high hockey IQ. Good vision. Decent skill and wheels. Already showed why he should stick.

Luckily he hit some people (probably the only way to get Bylsma's attention in that situation, short of scoring goals). So he's got a chance of playing tomorrow. Please Disco Don't Hurt 'im!

Almost scored a goal as well as he got decked right in front of Brodeur. I love that a guy his size is willing to take the punishment in front of the net. He obviously intends to give everything to thiz opportunity. Question. If he got injured would he have to pass through waivers?

If Boychuk can buk up a little, ht would benefit him immensely I just hope he wouldn't lose any speed in doing so.

J-F, do you see him being a better fit on the Left or Right side?

Left side and definitely with Crosby. As far as I could see Bylsma only paired him with Crosby once but there was instant chemistry with Crosby. He played well Malkinas well but was more complimentary, the third wheel. He looked like Crosby's Neal the one time with him.

I'd like to see him and Kunitz swap lines for a game. Reunite that line and see if Boychuk doesn't look even better with Sid.

Cool. So Kunitz might be sent own to the 2nd line to play with 71-18... Dupuis to play with Sutter... TK on his way out for a nice replacement on RW with Sid and Boychuk (who'll be on his left side).

I like the idea. Ray, send TK packing for Seto (who's primarily a rigthhanded RW who can be a trigger man on the left side of the PP)

How can you gauge this so-called Crosby's Neal thing in one shift? Not trying to harsh on you, but the whole "Crosby's Neal" thing is getting out of hand.

Boychuk had 1 SOG.

Sorry ChiChi but that's 1 more SOG than Tangradi & Jeffrey had all day (LOL)

Was wondering, is boychuk more of a third wheel skilleset or second wheel for crosby?

What I am saying is that they complimented each other nicely. More so than with Malkin. Cycling and passing looked far more comfortable than as you say one shift would indicate. If my description implied he was anything like the talent of a Neal though I misspoke.

Considering he's a unicycle at the moment I'll settle for training wheels.
