Seeing as we have lost our #1C for atleast 8 weeks and could potentially use an upgrade in order to ease the load on Turris.. What would it take to land Stephen Weiss as a rental? He's from what I can see losing favour in Florida and it looks like they are going in a different direction with him and I believe he'd be a nice addition to our Top 6 while Spezza heals from back surgery and can still be a nice addition once Spezza returns.
Not sure what those respective player values are though.
We got a few guys coming up soon like Bjugstad, Shore(maybe might be sticking now), Howden, in the next year or so. Bjugstad might translate his scoring to the NHL, from the NCAA, but we lack a sniper, aka a guy who can score goals other than charging the net

Well that eliminates Stone and Smith who play more of a power game. Hoffman, Puempel and Regin may be best suited for the Panthers. Other speedy forwards that are a couple years away from NHL but should make it are Pageau and Prince that be added. Alsom did we mention that Bishop is available??? Although likely not need with Markstrom destined to take over the net

Why do you say that? I dont see him losing any favor with the Panthers. He likes it in FL and would like to stay but just didnt want the distraction of a contract negotiation to take away from his play on the ice. Tallon has said he values player who have lots of character and the Panthers are still at least several yrs from being able to replace Weiss with someone in the org as the #1 center. They can't go in a different direction until some of the prospects prove they are capable of handling the load and several of them aren't even in the pro's yet (like Bjugstad).
Currently, he's nursing a groin injury so obviously he wouldn't even do you any good if its because you want to put someone in Spezza's spot for the next 8 weeks. Though Weiss is probably expected back by next week.
We will make the playoffs.. 2-0 without Spezza so far no need to panic and rush out and trade young player for a band aid.
2-0 so far against Montreal and Washington. You have probably about 25-28 or so games without him now. I don't understand why Sens fans are so cocky. Kyle Turris is your #1 center.

Not cocky we won those games with team effort and having the best offensive defencemen in the league ..
For a rental you arent giving up a Puempel or Stone and we dont have a 2nd for that rental type deal

It also helped that Anderson played out of his mind. But hey, if you think he can sustain a .967 sv% and .99 GAA over the next two months, well I won't be the one to burst your bubble.
If you want a guy with a shot, Puempel has a great one.
If you want a guy that can play all situations and will clean up the dirty goals, Noesen is that player.
Both these players are prospects, if you would like a player that is in the NHL to tie you over for the season,
