Breaking news : We are not on a 10 games losing streak!
X, although you are correct you cannot deny tonight's game was a concern to say the least. After starting to such a hot start, and with a day to rest, we figured well we are 2-0-0 without our #1 centre, no biggie! Tonight was basically a dagger in our throats in making us come to the realization that Spezza is no longer out on the ice helping our offense get something generated. I was at the Pens game last sunday, and if it wasn't for Spezzas charge to the net Greening would have never gotten that garbage goal, and the Sens would have never gotten a point.

God you guys are pathetic after a loss.

Alfie's Not Top 6

Actually, he is. Statistically, he is producing at a top 6 rate still. End of story.

TRADE DE FARM WE NEED A CUP

Ouvert les eyes. Like seriously. Spezza's injury sucks, yes. Should we look for a replacement? Yes. Should we give up valuable assets to acquire a soon to be UFA that won't sign? No. If we're replacing Spezza, we should be trying to acquire a Center that has a place on this team for the next couple years, and that can move to wing when he comes back. Ex: Brassard

Boring game, Canes did a good job of impeding zone entry and breaking up the cycle if we did get in there. Good defensive effort by the whole team, just didn't get lucky in the other end.

The sun will rise tomorrow, Anderson didn't give any impression of faltering and Karlsson can't win 'em all. Relax and have a drink.

I have been away from the Sens now for a couple of seasons, however the last 3 games that I have been able to catch on Team 1200 radio have to me shown promise. With such an influential player like Spezza out they haven't done so bad.

When I first joined the board, and I was completely new to ice hockey and adopted the sens as my team because I am from the U.K. Alfie was described to me as god, and I still believe he carries that title. Whatever age he is he will always have a positive role to play in the team regardless of what line he will play in because he is a figure everyone can look up to.

Anderson for me is the saving grace that the Sens have for me because what I remember of my first season the sens really struggled with their goal tending and he seems to be doing really well. It's early on in the season and although there was a lose tonight from what I listened to there wasn't too many mistakes, just that little bit of luck or lack of finishing power. That hopefully someone can fill the void that is Spezza to slot that puck away.

Just came home from the game. How depressing. Potentially my last live Alfie game in the most disastrous loss.

Nobody seemed to be in the right place. Karlsson showed a sense of mortality and O'Brien was working hard.

What a depressing game...

Personally I think we just need a rent-a-player center, I'd hate to see them give up future prospects for short-term gain. When Alfy retires we'll have more cap room to weigh up our options, but for now Turris is not that first line center we need.

Canes are a very solid team that are just starting to gel. No shame in losing by one goal.

Just stay the course and see what the kids can do for a dozen games or so. We'll be ok.

We definitely need a rent-a-center. Someone we can choose to resign, or let go at the end of this short season.

So you're saying we need to acquire a soon to be RFA?

Now let me ask you this. What is this RFA replacement center going to do when Spezza comes back? Is he going to replace another one of our centers? If yes, what happens to that player? Are we trading him.

If you meant we need to acquire a soon to be UFA, are you willing to give up a valuable future asset to acquire less than half a full NHL season of a decent replacement? You realize that the odds of a player traded who is set to be a UFA usually ends up testing the free agent market?

I doubt Spezza comes back.
Has Jason Arnott signed with anyone?

the main problem i had tonight is that not scoring on a 4min penalty is unacceptable.

Always tough to lose, but I just keep looking at the standings and that makes me smile. 5-2-1 is a great start.

About 30 shots on net. Don't remember too many quality chances but at least there's a positive.

It looked like a fairly even game to me, which isn't too bad considering our injuries.

- Phillips probably had his best game this season.
- Greening on the PP makes me cringe. He managed to make me miss Latendresse there.
- We need to give Da Costa a chance. If not now then when?

Regarding Regin, the guy is in all the right places. However, his release, his reach, and his range of motion look to have deteriorated. Is it because of limited playing time in recent years? Can his shoulder handle it anymore?

The guy at the very least needs to get more of his wrists and foerarms involved in his shooting motion imo to be on a scoring line.

Lmao, you guys are killing me ri now. We absolutely dominated them. Their only real chances were the 2on1 SH chance and... I forgot.

We held them COMPLETELY to the outside for the majority of the game. Gonchar should have scored that goal, Michalek shouldn't have fanned on that breakaway chance, Greening not spinning to score an empty net chance etc...

The bounces simply did not go our way.

I don't know about you guys but I am absolutely in love with out defensive system, my God, we are keeping all the players to the perimeter I love it.

Remember our 2-1 loss to Pitts and all you going crazy, then we destroyed Montreal 5-1. This fanbase kills me.
