You think McWhatever wanted to start anything with 13 seconds left to go with Scott next to him?

With that said, Vanek was a beast. Plain and simple. I've been critical of him in the past, but he is the heart of this team at this point. This guy wants to win more than anyone on the ice.

Scott showed his dominance tonight, something tells me when he fought Orr last week he was only going at about 75%

G:
- Vanek
- VHP
- Miller
- Scott kicking Thornton's ass and his subsequent point at Lucic
- Weber. I thought he had a really solid game
- Foligno
- The PK... although it was mostly Miller.
- Fighting back
- Ennis & Vanek's chemistry. Not suggesting VHP gets broken up, but would definitely like to see Ennis on the PP with VHP.

B:
- How do the Sabres lose to the Leafs at home, then put up 7 on the Bruins on the road?
- Myers and Leopold... holy cow
- Grigs getting nine minutes of TOI. Don't really understand it... especially after his nice play on the Sulzer goal.

U:
- Lucic.

Under the bad for the B's: Chara. This was the first game in years that he, in my opinion, was a non factor. Is he finally slowing down, or was this just an off night for him?

Eh, tonight was a man's game from the get go. I'm ok with sheltered minutes in this one. If it carries over then I don't understand it.

Ok? And Ennis had 2 points today directly attributed to Vanek. Ennis had atleast 2 more great chances when he was out there with Vanek. Ennis is much faster then Hodgson and I think would be better suited.

Because you know with Lindy Ruff that V-H-P will play every single game together, Lindy nevvvvver changes his lines on a whim

It was a suggestion. It might be better to distribute our producing players and try to jumpstart Staff and Foligno with Cody who has played well.

Orr is P4P as tough as they come, but yeah, it looked like Scott had a lot of rust to knock off. Tonight he made a difference.

Same. And not to nitpick, but his first few shifts he looked like a youngster, out of place.

Got coldcocked early, too.

I don't care about this one game sample size. In no way, shape or form does VHP get broken up. I'm not giving up ridiculously consistent play for one flash in the pan game which is also a subset of the aforementioned consistent play from that line.

Yeah, I figured going into this game that Grigs wouldn't see much ice time, Lindy was right on not playing him much tonight.

When he's had a successful first line, he's stuck with it... VHP is playing the entire season together... Sorry

Your desire to break change the center on one of the highest scoring lines in the NHL is a clear indicator of your irrational bias

I see your point but with a line that has generated 95% of the sabres offense so far in the season, you really don't start experimenting. A wise man once sad if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Forgot to mention John Scott. It's so nice to have a guy who can actually fight on our team.

Forget breaking up VHP, now that it appears Ennis and Foligno are in gear now, it's time to put FES back together. Sucks for Grigs, but Stafford needs to get going, stonehands Ott isn't cutting it.

Nothing against Ott, but I don't see him as a top 6 player

I don't hate Hodgson. Notice he was in my goods. But I do think putting your two most talented offensive players is best in the long run.

Can we please talk about how Seguin averaged 12:12 of ice time his rookie season in Boston?

Ruff's handling of Grigorenko hasn't been nearly as poor or uncommon for an 18-year-old as many are implying.

Good:

Vanek: Holy ****......not much else to say there.
Miller: Let in 4, but made some AMAZING saves. Again, havn't seen him play like this since he won the Vez.
Ennis
Pommer
Foligno
Scott: Earned his entire seasons' salary in this game. I get the feeling tonight's fight was not only a message to the bruins, but to the league.
Vanek Some more!

Bad: Myers and Leopold. We have the dmen to put em in the box for a game or two. do it!

Ugly: The boston GDT Holy crap.

Marchand's face.

good point, and anyone with a set of eyes knows how well Seguin turned out. patience is key.
