Randy Carlyle deserves a good amount of credit for this team's performance so far. So much better than Wilson and Maurice.

Look where Komarov is when Frattin scores. He hits the net and michael neuvirth seems to go for him instead of "Mats" Frattin as one other poster called him

Gorgeous play...

Yeah I saw that too after watching the gif a few times. That distraction by Komarov seems to throw off Neuvirth. Koma deserves an assist for that kick fake he did.

Honestly, just a sick goal all around. I could watch that gif all day.

In fact, theres not a single damn player that is any good that has left our team and still played well.

Only on defence.
Antropov, Versteeg, Steen, Stalberg, Moore, Beauchemin, Gill, White, Harrison, etc. etc.

plenty of skaters, no goalies.

WOW check this out. I didn't even notice, but in this play, Komarov redirects the pass to Fratin with his foot.

Post-game

"He's working his balls off."
- Cody Franson on Phil Kessel's effort despite not scoring.

Oh diss.

I think it's more of Komarov getting his skate out of the way knowing the pass isn't intended for him so he goes straight to the net.

Those are pretty average/slightly above average players defensively.

Pretty bad school of defence in Toronto evidently.

Makes average goalies look terrible and terrible goalies look even worse.

Randy Carlyle, as opposed to Wilson and Maurice, will implement a defence-first system.

This is going to help our goaltenders stats.

Those were all good players here, and good players elsewhere.

None of our goalies since Belfour have gone on to be good goalies anywhere else. Because they're not good goalies.

Having a real goalie is going to help our goalie stats.

not sure if you've noticed, but the leafs aren't exactly playing a tight defensive system out there. high temp, always attacking, lots of goals.

Nah they're playing the way they always have past redline and into the opponent end.

It's the way they are playing behind the redline that is dramatically different.

Much more organized support system in place from the forwards.

This is the same James Reimer who played last spring.

minus the concussion.

healthy 24 year old reimer is likely to be better than injured 23 year old reimer.

I don't think Komarov actually makes contact with the puck, but what might have been more impressive (if it were intentional of course) is that komarovs foot seemed to protect the puck from the incoming swipe of the Washington players stick, allowing the pass to continue to frattins stick. Unfortunately it seems that komarovs real intention was the least spectacular one, it wasnt to redirect the puck onto frattins stick or to box the opposing players stick out to allow the pass to reach frattin, in actuality he seemed to be trying to direct the puck onto the net in a kicking fashion, and missed.

Oh You mean when that coach had a team in a playoff position?

Just give Burke some credit for once . Like holy **** man. YOU want to say you're objective. Well then step up and give some credit where it is due.

Nonis wanted Eakins and Burke Insisted on Carlyle. So good one for Burke .
Come on and say it. Burke did good.

he had a concussion. well-documented.

Reimer had whiplash and not a concussion. again, well-documented.

Giguere has been playing much better since leaving behind Ron Wilson and his school of defensive ineptitude.
