I honestly didn't like Pav's game. Just bad rebounds and too many soft goals. Possibly the worst Jet in this game. So far, I have been unimpressed with Pav this season.
Agree he made some good saves then some really bad performance too. One goal went straight through him. Another he gave up a huge rebound when he should have caught it.
When the Jets had the lead midway through the 3rd, I couldn't believe their amazing luck at being in that position considering how terrible they had been playing. Regression sure got them fast, and it served them right.
we play to the level of our competition, we might as well just play against top teams.
You know, I don't think you are too far off here. We seem to give our all to the tops in the league, but when we play crap to mid level teams, it's like the effort isn't all there. That's unacceptable.
Well in all reality I thought Burmi looked decent (why is he not the #1PK center), Redmond played pretty decent, and actually I thought Wheeler made some good plays. The fourth line plays the same way the fourth line always does. So that makes for six players who played at an acceptable level in my opinion.
I can't figure this team out. I really have to say what I think what this team needs (other than Buff and Bogo back) is for Noel to get really pissed off, start benching some people, throw stuff.
He's a defenseman covering the net, making sure Pavs has a clear view of any shots..
Where else is he supposed to be.
Are you kidding me? I know you're a fan of his, but literally I blame him directly for two goals. The guy has ZERO physical presence. If you're going to stand in front of the net and NOT move the bloody opponent out of the goalie's way, all you are doing is adding to the problem.
The only defense Hainsey has in my opinion right now is spending months in a boardroom and having to play more than normal time.
But otherwise he doesn't move a damn thing off that net. He was blocking vision as much as the guys he was 'defending' against. He has zilch for physical presence. I counted two goals that he let guys stand in front and directed blocked Pav's view tonight.
If we draft high enough can we draft MacKinnon please?
So we will use him in 3-rd or 4-th line and PK (aka Burmi or Mark)
So the only thing we will have on PP is big shot of big Buff
And when he will suck on PK (50% success rate) we will look for PK specialist and give up our picks to a team who will use their prospects properly
Agree he made some good saves then some really bad performance too. One goal went straight through him. Another he gave up a huge rebound when he should have caught it.
Pavs has been bad so far this year, there is no way to sugar coat it.

That was the game right there. If he gloves that puck IMO the team wins. They needed a save. Your best PKer is your goalie and Pavs was sub par tonight.
What i've noticed about the jets from last year and up to now is we can't win on the road often and play like crap against all canadian teams.other than that were not too bad.unfortuneately that makes up most of our schedule.
Yup, it's the exact same team as last year. Up, down, up down. Can anyone even pinpoint how to fix this?
Well 1/2 the team is FA after this short season. That might help.
Add a few players, but the rot is still lingering from the ATL.
When you play a 30th place team you simply cannot allow them to dictate the pace and style of the game... yet the Jets continually do it.
All that play (apparently above their heads) last week has been wasted now.
Almost any team can be ~ .500 in this league with all the looser points going around. At least this will be over in a few months and Chevy can start re-loading.
Perhaps we may even get the chance to draft a difference maker... or take a pass on that player and go after someone who needs another 3-4 years.
Not going to get easier with TB, FLA, TOR, OTT, PHI, PIT, and BOS.
Of those games, I can maybe see them beating Toronto and possibly Philadelphia, but even that is no guarantee. By the end of this stretch the JETS could be near the basement.
Like most of you I am absolutely disgusted right now.
The effort in this game was worse than Montreal.
This isn't my anger speaking here, but I think I'm really starting to not like Noel. I mean I like him, but I think coaching is becoming a real issue with this team:
- How come this team can get up for the big games, and can't bring **** to the bottom feeder teams?
- Why are we so bad at breaking out of our zone?
- Why is it (not tonight) we can't handle a trap style team?
- Why are we so bad in front of our own net?
- Just like last year, the Jet's only play to the level of their opponent.
- Why does every other team seem to have a more aggressive PK system?
I believe these are all coaching issues. Don't get me wrong I really like Noel, but here's the thing; I believe this team has the talent and man power to at least make playoffs. I think Chevy has made some key moves to give us the speed, power, size, and youth mixed with vets to do this. Sure we have weaknesses, but I am telling you this team is BETTER than this.
Not sure changing the coach will help. Sorry if you guys get sick of hearing about the Thrashers, but half of these guys came from there, and their inability to get motivated against weak teams is nothing new for many of them (and the Thrashers went thru some coaches). Familiar pattern. I still think the team is on a steady, upwards trend though. It's just going to take awhile to fully embrace a new mindset but it will happen. It's already started to, IMO.
