Marchand thinks Ruff is disrespectful

Quote:
Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff called a timeout with just 13.6 seconds to play and his team leading 7-4. Ruff defended the move by saying he didn’t like having Lane MacDermid, a noted fighter, lined up against one of his own skill guys.

So, he called timeout and changed things up, which involved sending John Scott over the bench to keep the peace, so to speak. That didn’t go over with at least one Bruins player.

“Yeah, [Ruff] wants to be a big shot, and that’s not the best play to do,” Brad Marchand said. “That’s pretty disrespectful. If he wants to be like that, that’s fine. We just have to move on.”

thought this was pretty funny

Brad needs to get over it. It's the smart thing to do for his players.

He was asked a question about it, commented on it and ended with "we will move on"

Sounds like he is getting over it just fine. I'm sure he's not the only with that opinion, Ruff is and always has been a piece of ****.

Oh, Marchand. Respect? How about not intentionally trying to injure players with sneak attacks?

MacDermid goes out for the remaining 13 seconds, why would Lindy risk having his skill guys out there and face goonery when the game is over? Called a timeout and put big John Scott out there instead.

Waaah Lindy beat Julien to the punch. Bruins send out a goon, Ruff sends out his neutralizer. The Bruins wanted nothing to do with him after he pasted Thornton. Seems like there just mad they were out-hit by the team they beat up last year. Scott did exactly what he was brought in for

Calling a time out with that much time... "it's a definition of a joke."

For wanting to make sure that nothing happened at the end of the game with his skill players??

No the joke is that the Bruins send out a goon with the game wrapped already.

Why would any coach risk the injuries of his star players?

That time out was taken because the Bruins wanted to goon it up after the game was over.

Good job by Ruff for ruffling some feathers.

Sounds like Ruff pretty easily justified the timeout in my books.

Did Scott do anything? No. He matched up against the toughest guy on the ice and the game ended without incident. The Bruins and Sabres have a history of getting chippy in the waning frames of contests, it's not like Scott went out and ran Rask. Nothing wrong with insurance.

Well, maybe he shouldn't have and then realized that when he saw MacDermid out on the ice, which is why he called TO and put Scott out there. I don't see why the Bruins are making this in to a big deal
