If you cant spell his name draw us a picture. Mac is far from a goon, thats like calling ruff a good hockey player.

He backs it up with his play. He's one hell of a player.

The toughest guy on the Habs roster at the time fought 5'9" Andrew Ference to start it all. And Hamrlik shot the puck after the whistle, that action always starts **** in hockey.

You're actually suggesting that Ruff was a bad player in his playing days? He wasn't a star, but he was a better-than-average NHLer.

Using your own logic you were wrong too. This thread isn't about a timeout, its about Marchand's opinion of Ruff.

Non-issue. Marchand doesn't really have anything to complain about.

I haven't seen the highlights yet, so I have no opinion on the events tonight.
However, there is an old NHL saying from back in the day when Ruff played. Apparently he hates hearing this, it drives him nuts, and if you had a sign behind the bench, he might attack you... "Ruff at home, Lindy on the road"

I'm not a Marchand fan, but let him say whatever he wants to say. I know we're supposed to judge posts, and not the poster, but it was started by a Canucks fan... kinda makes you wonder the purpose behind it.
I can't believe we're having a "discussion" about this.

Julien with last change puts out a goon, Ruff makes a change using his only legal option.
Nothing to see here except Marchand not understanding how it works, and feeling butthurt after the game.

How about Lucic trying to fight Pouliot after Chara had decapitated Pacioretty earlier in the game?

I said they weren't exactly skilled guys so true enough. Carry on.

Dude, he was the captain of an NHL team for almost 3 years. That qualifies, let it go.

Lucic had a problem with Poo because he went after Krejci earlier and you do realize that Patches head never hit the stantion right?

The sad part is ... There's not one Bruins fan so far that I've read that can see this without bias.
First event... Line change done by Boston
Second event... Line change done by Buffalo. Ruff not realizing fast enough the players Boston sent out on the ice.
Third event... Time out, Buffalo
Forth event... Player change during timeout
Any coach with half a brain would do the same exact thing. Especially if the coach didn't like the match up. Think it thru. Think strategy. Use logic.

Marchand and Ruff should do a whining contest. Not sure who would win.

So Marchand thinks that Ruff is stupid enough to trust the goons that Claude put out on the ice to not start trouble with his stars.
I'd say that boy's been dropped on his nose once too often.

Marchand is just another puke in the nhl. If he didn't have tough guys like the bruins on his team he would not act this way. He's a coward.

I'm gonna just say Marchand was asked by a reporter about the timeout and its not like he randomly went out and said this...
