He's playing top 6 with the 'Canes. From what I've seen much of it with Staal and Semin. Takes care of the defensive side of things, 2nd. PK, and 2nd. PP unit. Last year he went into the season off surgery and it was probably hia break-out season, 17 goals, 36 points and 2nd. in +/- for forwards.

Just another example of impatient fans and management.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

I'm not sure why he was moved, lack of patience, not "truculent" enough... and its not really like he would have a place here now...

But the value wasn't there at all.
The photo didn't help...

His end in Toronto was when that picture surfaced.

He's a product of his linemates. When he is on a separate line he does not produce. I'd say he's a decent 3rd line tweener, I prefer Mac over him, but they are similar in that aspect.

Not much of a loss, I could care less if we still had him or not tbh.

The Islanders have some great younger players and some up and coming players as well but their coach is a joke, their GM is a joke, and their owner is a joke as well. Wang isn't going anywhere, but I'd say it's time to clean house with Snow/Capuano.

Snow's had seven seasons to turn things around and it seems like that's not happening. Capuano is just not an NHL coach imo. I've watched a few of their games, they look uninterested most of the time and make some lazy plays - similar to most nights when Ron Wilson was our coach.

The handling of Nino is more than enough to convict this franchise of being disfunctional.

I feel worse for Isles FANS than the PLAYERS. They're the ones suffering.

Tlusty is on the first line for the Canes...and has made a solid contribution at both ends of the ice.

Apparently he is being called a complete player by Canes announcers.

I guess playing with Eric Staal and (I assume) Jeff Skinner helps..

Actually this year it's Eric Staal and Alex Semin. Last year, when he was moved to Staal's line (along with LaRose and other various wingers..but not Skinner) part way through the season, it was Tlusty that was credited with helping Staal get going after a slow start.

I agree with posters that commented that he's not a typical top 6 talent and doesn't create on his own, but "complete player" is the best way to describe him. He does a lot of the dirty work that really helps that line. He forechecks well, he is very good defensively, he goes to the net hard, and he chips in offensively from time to time. I think people sometimes forget he's still only 24. He's versatile enough to be able to play on any of the top 3 lines and not look out of place.

People should get Center Ice and watch other teams.

He is a complementary player.

com·ple·ment
/ˈkämpləmənt/
Noun
A thing that completes or brings to perfection.
Verb
Add to (something) in a way that enhances or improves it; make perfect.
Synonyms
noun. supplement - addition - adjunct
verb. complete - supplement

Most lines need complementary players for the above reason.

That's great and all, but he is not a top 6 player.

He's a 3rd liner, who is playing in the top 6 by default. He's a complimentary player like MacArthur.

Mats Iginla just doesn't seem to mesh with any center, so maybe they've quit trying to find on.

LMFAO 5 powerplays for the Habs in the first period. All that whining from their midget ******* players must have had a carry over effect on the refs in the game tonight.

Should've been done a long time ago. I guess Craig Patrick has the "interim" tag until they find a permanent guy.

Brian Burke perhaps?
