He was out of position. When your out of position you leave large holes. Its an odds game.

Not saying Pavs has been great, but let's not pretend there's a "goalie controversy" any time soon. He was great against the Pens, Isles, and Caps. He gives us the best chance to win. With the d as bad as it is, I'm surprised he hasn't been worse.
Montoya played vs. NYI but he was great vs. WSH/PIT/BOS(+posts)

When a shot from the point comes you go out of the net where he was. It got tipped short side. That short side will always be open on a point shot.

Gary Busey's brain doesn't have as many holes as this team does.

This. That's what separates the good goalies from the average goalies.

Jets look laid back again. They are getting beat to every puck in both ends. The difference in hustle getting to the puck is very evident. In some cases it's almost ridiculous.

That's Pavs biggest thing... his positioning tends to cause the odds to go against his favour...

I thought he played really well positionally for BOS, PIT, and WSH... surprise his sv% rockets... he has everything else...

Go out...to the goalline? Watch the replay, he was at best midway in his crease, he needs to be out at least to the top of his crease. Let the defense worry about back side pass and play the shot, he was waaaay too deep in his net, which allowed the tip to be effective.

He was at the top of the crease facing the point shot. Where else is he supposed to go? Hug the short side post to prevent the tip and get scored on far side from the point?
