They added two top 9 forwards and a top 6 center. Give them more than one offseason ?

Careful... I got jumped on in the off season when I dared say enough wasn't done to improve the team.

Yeah Tampa was closer to a good team than the Jets were last year. They addressed some issues up front, now the back needs some work. Trouba may be coming to the team earlier than he thought.

Halloween is on AMC right now. Turned it on, and they had the Jets game playing!

Off-topic question: The announcers keep talking about "underage" players. What exactly is that? Under 20? Rookies? Players still eligible to play in junior?

And looking good too, even if it's against a team that is just trying not to tire itself out too much for tomorrow.

The biggest issues are the GAA, Fix it how you want? New/better/upgrade personel, or coaching/systems. I would guess without looking they are at the same point as last year after 8 games. Bottom or near bottom on GAA and in the middle for goals for.

Less than 160 hockey minutes ago we were headed for the playoffs. Maybe it's just a phase they're going through.

I think the goals for wasn't sustainable, the top 9 were very weak. Slater and Thorburn are not 3rd line guys.

Re: off-season UFA/trades...

Honestly forwards-wise we did do well...
Defense-wise there wasn't much to be had that we would want/looking for... a #4/5 would have been nice but what can you do... but our depth is good IF we had Bogosian and Byfuglien here...
Goaltending... that's another thing...

Rick Ralph interview someone regarding airplane disasters on TSN 1290. The irony is so amazing that that it's not even funny

I can't get upset until we see what they do with a fully healthy roster.

Man. TB was totally laying off for the last 15 minutes of period two and we STILL couldn't muster a goal. Hell, we could barely get the puck to the net. This is really really really not very good at all. Not very good at all...

We've seen what they can do with a fully healthy roster. It's maddening that having just 2 core players out changes the dynamic of the game so much. Granted, those are 2 of our top 4, but everyone else should be able to step up. I would expect them to, at least. This shows the gulf between the top pairing and everyone else. It's going to be a cold winter until Bogo and Buff get back. :/
