For as little as you can know about captain's in the NHL and their role in the lockeroom, it's pretty well established that Brenden Morrow is a "quiet" leader. And now that he's not leading on the ice, it's time to get rid of him.
There's two in Dallas who I'd pick, either Jamie Benn or Trevor Daley.
I also think Loui Eriksson would be a good captain.
Yes, he's very quiet and shy, but the way he plays is exemplary. Plays a fantastic two-way game, doesn't take penalties, and plays with heart.
Keep Pominville, no doubt. I like Vanek having the A, but Stafford should not have the other one.
Captains should lead by example first and foremost, and Pominville is the best example of that on our team. It seems like he gets better every single year and plays the most complete game on the team by far. He is a hard worker and never takes a shift off.
Like other posters have said, I can definitely see Foligno with the C down the road, with two of Grigs, Girgs, Hodgson, or Myers getting the A's.
