After reading through the first page I wondered why this topic was even created when even the OP neglected to pick a new captain, the sole point of this thread.

I'd pick Hank again, but if I was forced to pick someone else I'd probably go with Kesler.

There's no obvious choice on the Leafs. I don't know if Phaneuf is captain material because lets face it, we don't really know how these guys are off the ice. I'm kind of hoping Frattin steps up as a leader in the next few years.

No, Henrik is great and I do not think that Daniel would be a step down.

As an outsider I would pick Garrison. I think he would handle the responsability well, better than other players on the team with high profile and longer time on the team.

I'm fine with Henrik, but I wouldn't be opposed to having Kesler captain. I feel he's the true heart and soul of the Canucks.

If/when Jarome Iginla is traded then Mark Giordano would be the only current player that would get my consideration.

Anybody but Phaneuf. I think the Leafs should run without a C until someone naturally assumes the role.

Seconded. Giroux has enough to get back on his game without hauling the C around the ice, too. And the way this team is playing, they need a strong veteran voice to stand up and chew them out.

I think most fans are regarding him as borderline waiver wire material rather then captain material.

Legwand or Erat for me, they've stuck by this team from the very beginning through thick and thin and anemic. If Weber plays out his contract the next captain will be Colton Scissons though.

Would give it to Weiss/Campbell any day of the week. Unbelievable that Jovo got it, hopefully he doesnt have too many seasons left.
