Lack's injury changes NOTHING.

You aren't getting a superstar for what has been a backup goaltender which, no matter how you spin it, Schneider has been. He has not gone through the riggers of being a starter, mentally and physically hence me saying he is unproven. For reference, see Bobrovsky and Varlamov trades. Schneider's numbers are better, but he also has played on a significantly better team than both Bob and Varlamov had been prior to their trades.

Well Varlamov was worth a top 10 pick, so there's a starting point for Schneider. Good luck trading Perry or Getzslaf by the way, we might be negotiating at the deadline with you again lol

Exactly. Everyone's view of his play has been downgraded so inaccurately and nievely.

He's a really good goalie.

If people listen to luongo this year compared 2 the past, he is a completely different person, He matured beyond belief. Just follow the lock out stuff he was going on about.

This guy has matured mentally and will show in the playoffs, if he stays

wtf... Schneider is a stud. He's not going anywhere. I can't stand this. He's better than Luongo.

Well I guess we have different OPINIONS.

I think Gillis sees a VERY motivated Luongo & holds on to him. Helps us & raises his value.

In the long term he is, but we dont have the sedins in the long term. It all comes down to how good Eddie Lack is.

If Lack develops as well as Schneider, then we can simply trade Cory for a way better package , keep Luongo for three years and then Lack will be ready.

I know we wanna sucker people to take Lui right now while he still has value but as you have seen nobody is falling for it. Might as well hang onto him as long as the Sedins are in their prime.

Didn't he have a ridiculously unsustainable power play SV% last year?

What was the rumoured offer at the draft for Schneider again? Wasn't it one of the top 3 picks plus something else?

I'm hoping that they keep Luongo long term and trade Schneider at the draft or deadline. They will both give you elite goaltending for the next 5 years. Our core is built around the Sedins anyway. Maximize the return now and worry about the goaltending later. It makes no sense to plan for 10 years down the line in the NHL. Not when the play of most players is so volatile.

No, Varlamov was traded for a first round pick and a 2nd round pick. It just so happend that that that particular pick ended up being a top 10 pick. What you are saying is similar to saying that Kessel was worth Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight.

The bolded part is you pitifully taking a shot at the team I support in an attempt to upset me I assume. Try elsewhere, I'm not 12.

Kane on Luongo "I think he's a great competitor and to be honest with you I'm glad he's doing well because he seems like a really good guy"

Even the blackhawks are noticing luongo's change.

It's funny, I think because of all the trade talk people are actually paying attention to Luongo's play and seemed shocked by how good he is. This is what Luongo nearly always looks like in the regular season folks, he is an All-Star for a reason. It's why many Canuck fans were saying the Leafs would pretty much auto-qualify for the playoffs if they got him.

Luongo on Blackhawks shootout lineup of Toews, Sharp & Kane:

"I think I pooped myself a little before the shootout when I saw those guys."

That's a sane idea and a good suggestion. But hasn't this thread sort of become a home away from home for Canucks fans. I'd worry about you guys. What if instead of going home, some of you felt that you had to camp out on the Toronto board again?

what are you talking about? he's clearly on the decline and is basically a cap dump at this point...
