Can't wait to watch his 4 min alongside Steckal and Orr/Brown on the 4th line!

Nice to see him get a shot while we have some injuries.

He's certainly played well for the Marlies.

Does Hamilton need to clear waivers?

Brown may not be ready tonight, so I guess they want some insurance.

If it's still just McClement playing there, I say why not.

I also wouldn't mind trying him with Kadri and Frattin to see if they have some chemistry, they should all know each other pretty well from the AHL.

Komorov can play in Brown's usual spot on the 4th.

Guy plays with a lot of heart and energy. He never seems to slow down or take a shift off, and gives 100% all the time. I liked what he brought to the table when I saw him play with the Marlies two years ago.

BTW:

Is he really 230?

I totally agree, we play Kotska big-time minutes on the same basis. This is a player who has spent his fair share of time in the minors, give him a couple games on the second line. It not only gives him a reward for his hard-work but also show from an organizational standpoint that if you put in the time (and perform) you will get your shot.

JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Hamilton-Grabovski-Kulemin
Frattin-Kadri-Komarov
McClement-Steckel-Orr

It's still a pretty pathetic top 9, but every player has their own niche and can easily be utilized. Atleast with Hamilton/Kulemin on the second line we will win a lot of puck battles along the boards. Let's hope Philly K can bust out of his scoring streak and give some life to that top-line.

randy knows 'whats down there'
its good to see callups fighting for spots and putting pressure on the regulars
countless seasons the farm would be ignored with no more than 3 guys worth a look - usually thrown onto the 4th line etc

On the flip side, anyone want Robbie Earl back instead of Hamilton?

Why? McClement scored a goal, and generated some good offensive chances. It would dumb for a coach to demote him after a good performance. Sends the wrong message. Hamilton will have to earn his spot (as Carlyle preaches).

As this is a season to see what we have in the system, i hope he gets a fair shot to prove himself. I hear he is a bit of a slow skater, but he wouldn't be the first that still can do well in the NHL. I hope he does well, sticks with the team and that we can trade MacA for a draft pic. It's a rebuild, lets see what he can do.
