A week after Buffalo goalie Clint Malarchuck took a skate to the throat he was back at practice.

What 'injury bug' was he bitten by. Do tell...

No seriously - list all the injuries he's had that led you to this so called 'conclusion'

Was it the broken neck suffered at the hands of the goon chara? What about his recent appendicitis? Oh no - player is made of glass. Give your ****ing head a shake!

Seriously - where's your evidence that's he's 'injury prone (your words!). Yeah - thought not.

Well said. No one said Max is the toughest player in the league with the best immune system. The OP was wondering about similar stories of other players.

Of course the trolls need no excuse to go off though, do they?

OP brought it on himself. If he didn't want to come across as a brag thread he would have titled it "Your teams toughest player", or something like that, but he ridiculously titled it about Pacioretty, gushed about him then said oh by the way tell me about your players too.
It most definitely was an attempted brag thread.

No it most definitely was not, maybe you can interpret what goes on in my mind better that I do but I doubt it...

My mistake was to attempt to give a little style to the post and bring in a little friendly competition. One up kind of thing. But eh I probably shouldn't expect this kind of positive rivalry in a sports forum, anyway whatever, I like what I'm reading from interested posters.

edit : changed the title a bit...

Ok fair enough, but with that style/rivalry that you are looking for comes the sarcastic posts, which some Habs fans seem to take issue with.

Didn't Patrick Roy only miss one game with an appendicitis? Or is the conspiracy theory still that he was secretly suspended for that game?

To be quite honest I don't really care about a hockey forum's dynamics, although I understand I can't say that I give a damn about it...

I try to focus on what's interesting, like this :

"Gilchrist had himself injected, in his groin, before every playoff game he played in that year with needles as long as Pinocchio’s nose in a game of liar’s poker. Even his fellow hockey warriors didn’t care to look when Gilchrist went into the trainer’s room for his pre-game treatment.

Sometimes the shots would wear off and Gilchrist would have them done again between periods. He played in 15 of the Red Wings’ 22 playoff games in 1998, his groin on fire. His injury was so severe that Gilchrist only played in five games the following season.

But the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 1998, so the pain was worth it to Brent Gilchrist, who’d never won the Cup before.
"

That's a ****ing warrior right there.

Max Pat ribs were only bruised, second he did not play in the first round of the playoffs and was a maybe for the second round and third i think he would need to play 1 game before hes back from his appendectomy(which could be this week).

Forsberg once played half a game with a ruptured spleen, puking blood. Medical crew forced him to not continue playing.

Bit off topic, but for those that didn't see it, how Injurys changed Max Pac's life

Basically saying after his Neck broke and he recovered from it, he told himself that take it one day at a time, and everything will be fine. It can't get any worse. And I think that shows how he recovers so quick. He has a positive mindset, takes it one day at a time, and sees where it takes him. He doesn't look ahead and be like "4 Weeks, that will take a while", He just goes one day at a time.

Smytty getting his chiclets knocked out on a clearing attempt by his own teammate in the 2006 playoffs... stayed in what was a 3OT game... right after it finished he spent six hours in a dentist's chair getting them fixed.

This is surely a brag thread.

But the most embarrassing part is all the people getting butt hurt over it.

Why the hell are you trying to argue the semantics of a fractured vertebrae ?

You think this is a gimmick ? Your armchair GM a** decided this was not up to your bloodlust standard ? Get real, you're a wimp compared to ANY NHLer.

You should be talking about Bergeron instead, a guy on your team with a similar story who also showed a lot of character and strength of will to come back from a very serious injury. I guess some people are only good for seeing the negative side of things.

Did you miss the dozens of post about historic comebacks, the stories of courage and toughness ?

I guess some of you guys are too cool to go by without posting these useless comments. People care so much about your whining, please indulge us...

It's hilarious how bitter some Bruins fans are in here.

Pacioretty coming back a week after an appendectomy is nothing short of impressive. His quick healing after the fractured vertebrae is equally impressive, especially considering he had a career year the following season!

What makes it even more hilarious is that they won the cup. I know if the roles were reversed I wouldn't give a ratsass what they were saying about my team.
