Agreed. Crosby played well... in fact, the team actually showed up which is a bonus compared to the last game.

Somedays your on or off but you can always show up, skate hard, and give some effort...

Couple first period notes:
- Defense looks solid again. Aggressive. Despres and Bort are hitting machines right now. I count at least 3 for Bort. He's finding his own game now.

- Boychuk was a pleasant surprise. He has some sick speed. He reminds me of Sully a bit.

- Fleury needs to just cover the puck like Vokoun does and that last penalty never happens. There was 8 seconds left..don't force the puck into the corner. Just cover the damn thing. Slow the game down for the opposition.

- Fourth line is owning it right now. STOP changing it around, DB.

Do you think that Jeffrey's late draft choice has anything to with it? He would have been drafted a lot higher if not for a bad knee at the time. I guess they see a former first round pick in Boychuk and that earns him an automatic tryout on our top 6 even though he couldn't crack a worse top 6 in the past 5 years.
Jeffrey's simply not gritty enough for Disco. I don't think it has to do with much more than that. Disco would prefer a Tanner Glass, all day, every day.

This coach SO has to go.

I think it's their way of telling everyone that they're no longer capable of playing with him actually.

Agreed, this is turning into a Burke-Wilson thing that happened in Toronto...too much loyalty, only difference is that Pens are finding a way to sneak out wins...

Boychuk is definitely worth a look. But DJ should still be in the lineup regardless, that's Bylsma's fault not Boychuk's.

I don't know what people are complaining about. Devils are a good team and they are playing well. Pens are FINALLY playing with intensity. This is a good game so far. TK made just as many good plays as bad. Same for Sid.

He did. Malkin passed to Adams near the left wall. I'm watching the replay ; )

I'm pretty sure he was just giving ZB a shift of rest.

Look at how low the Devils support their breakout. It's tremendous. Support support support. Pens did a good job cutting it off. This is why we should only use stretch passes every now and again as opposed to every time.

I'm very troubled by our offense this year. I think we're enough games into the season now that you can start to get the feeling that the way our offense is playing isn't just some slump but the way it's gonna be all year aka we're a three man team that isn't going to get much out of our secondary support.

Last year our secondary scoring was terrific, so I don't know what's going on exactly. Staal being gone can't be the whole reason.

Good points. I, too, feel that getting a winger for free and trying him out for a few games is a terrible idea. Fire Shero.

Let's mix our lines a bit, let's put Glass - Malkin - Adams line for lulz.

Jeffrey played very good last games and the reward is, being scratched.

Let's play sick Kunitz who sucks since the game 1.

Really Bylsma? I mean REALLY ????

To me Crosby just doesn't have the zing that I am used to seeing.

Malkin got double shifted. He was between Adams and Glass. If that became Adams - Malkin - Neal it was because Glass had changed but Adams hadn't yet. Being on the ice with someone doesn't mean they were put on a line together. Sometimes only part of a change gets to happen with a player stuck on the ice.

Lol @ steigy (or errey, i still dont know which is which) referring to Kovalchuks career +/- and calling him bad defensively based on that. Also "Crosby tripped him down accidentally" made me uncertain if i should laugh or cry.

MAF needs to play without stick, one day he will give me a heart attack with his adventures.
