Pretty stoked to see what Boychuck can bring. Any chance the Pens decide to win one at home?

Not really. We´ve won the last two meetings against them if I remember correctly (season series tied 3-3). 5-2 win in NJ with about 52-15 shots advantage for us was the last one. I think we have won season series against them 2 years ago quite comfortably. Three years ago, they swept us..

As long as we play patient defensive game (like we are doing on the road so far), we should be OK. Devils aren´t that scary.

The combination of playing the devils and the 2 awful home games so far this season should be good for the pens today. Expecting a motivated pens team to get the win. Malkin # 1 star today always plays good in the afternoon.

It is 2 games with no day off so both will get used most likely. Does it really matter who gets which game?

I think it's also probable that Vokoun was given the option to pick which game he wanted to start and elected to face his former team.

Matt Anderson was sent back down for NJ. So, they'll either insert Stefan Matteau or (more likely) play 7 defensemen today. Also look for Adam Henrique to move up to the second line and Patrik Elias to move back to his more comfortable LW position. I doubt Matteau plays because he has already played five games and they'd have to burn Year 1 of his ELC if he played today. I think they would prefer to send him back to the Q.

It's weird, but I don't think this game will be boring. New Jersey Devils hockey KILLS New York Rangers hockey on the entertainment meter these days! And it's not even close.

Kolvachuk a +5. And I was starting to think that was a meaningless stat.

27 minutes TOI throughout 6 games and still not been on the ice for an even strength goal against yet. Kovalchuk's defence is really improving. But his 50 goals days seem to be definitely over on the other hand.

Last three games between these two have been 5-2.

Im guessing 3 - 1 to the Pens.

Why the hell is Jeffrey sitting for this game?

We have a sick, useless, slumping Kunitz who won't sit his ass down and the coaching staff won't tell him to "rest" and we throw a random waiver claim out with our top line.

Typical Pens coaching...and I hope Jeffrey gets waived so he has an actual chance in the NHL (ala Strait, McDonald, Johnson...)

Just coming back from injury. IIRC this will be his 2nd game on the season.

I'd say this one really matters to them, and I can see them going devilish on, Marty.

Boychuck is definitely worth giving a shot. I don't agree with sitting Jeffrey to do it though.

Bylsma said winger Chris Kunitz (illness) is a game-time decision vs. New Jersey. #Penguins
