So in conclusion, Simmonds cops an elbow to the jaw from Erskine who receives no penalty at all, while Backes get a match penalty and a 5 minute major for a perfect shoulder hit to the chest that at no point hit his head, for a high hit.

Good work NHL, good work.

Uh oh. Wings scored.

I'm really sorry Blues fans.

I'm embarrassed by that call.

Totally agree man. There have been some bad calls this season, but this one takes the cake.

And the Wings score.

Shame this good game was so twisted one way or the other by refereeing.

Bad call and it completely affected the game. A bad call on a 2 minute minor is different than this. 5 minutes is crazy

thank God it's not a close game, right? Over an 82 game schedule it all works it's way out, right? wings never get calls at the Joe, right?

What a joke.
Clean hit. Skilled player thrown in a tight game....for nothing.

Wings fan, terrible call. Worst part is the ref that made the call was standing right there...

It was actually Ian Walsh. He was behind the play and when Huskins's head flew back due to the brunt force of the hit, I guess he thought the got nailed in the head. Bad call.

Also a Wings fan and was disgusted as a fan and player of hockey. Even if we win this, it will be sour knowing we didn't really deserve that powerplay.

This really ruined a good game. Very sad. Hopefully St Louis can get justice and tie it back up.
