wings fan in me glad they won

Hockey fan in me just disturbed at how easily this game was derailed from opening puck drop to the end by inept refereeing.

up until the Backes it, they were pretty bad across the board. The its kinda hard to even look "even" after that happens. that was just atrocious.

I sincerely hope that there are some repercussions for the officiating tonight. Just awful.

The 5 on 3 call was questionable...they scored on it.

The 5 minute major sent me over the edge. I have never been this mad about a hockey game in my entire life. 26 years old, lifetime fan. Detroit played a well fought game regardless, but 2 points were handed to them on a fxxking platter.

Not only was the call a major for a wrong guess, it was an absolutely beautiful hit. Of course the refs had to decided this game.

Ref has backes in fantasy and knows he hasn't been scoring... Oh well, time to get ready for next game. Go Canucks...

To be fair, when St Louis is comfortably in 1st place in the conference in two months I doubt many people will care about this call.

Still disappointing though. Made a good game feel like a shallow win.

If I was a Red wing fan, this win wouldn't feel right

It was a horrible call, but not even close to a dive/embellishment
No not at all. I'm saying the refs are looking at the snap of the head instead of what actually happened.

I'm sure that the Blues would have liked Backes on that last minute PP trying to tie the game. Too bad he couldn't be out there.

Nice work ref.

It's great to have fans like this that are hockey fans and realize calls like that are bad for the league in general. The Refs were pretty awful tonight against both teams.

The refs won that game for DET. Their fans can disagree, but that's what happened. Refs just ruined a great game.

Ian Walsh should be demoted to the AHL for that call.

Didn't St. Louis score on two questionable penalties as well, though? Refs were awful both ways.

I don't think you will find a Wings fan that thought that was a good call.

Unfortunately, you have to take what's given to you.

Sorry Dad, what's for dinner?

And the bad calls went both ways, the Wings earned this win, even though that was the worst call in the history if calls. The win doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth at all.

They just got a weak make-up call, im guessing you wot say anything about that?

Just agree it was a bad call, leave the homer crap elseware.
There shouldn't of been any calls. You got 2 goals on ******** calls. There's no homer in any of my statements at all. They were BAD calls everyone agrees on that.

Sucks to see terrible officiating ruin what was an amazing game to that point, oh well **** happens, too short a season to worry about one game, on to the next one

It's different. That call completely changed the game complexion. Blues were lucky if they survived a 5 minute major with 10 mins to go in the game.

Probably the worst call I have ever witnessed.

Is any fan disagreeing? FFS it's a regular season game. You guys will still comfortably make the playoffs. Get the **** over it and stop trying to dog Wings fans.

They both scored 2 PP goals on bad calls...the 5 min is what sunk the game into oblivion

I'm sure it has been said, but even if you want to call a 2 minute minor (even though nothing happened to warrant that), that goal was scored after 2 minutes were up. So we were reamed in the rear no matter how you want to look at it.
