You can close your eyes and choose to deny it but all these things add up to something else.
I don't give a crap about the celebration but it's weird that it has come out and become a media story. Why did the media ask about this ? How did they know to ask ?
As for the bold part, common. You know that's horse crap. A player of PK's talent could have been reinserted into the lineup the minute he was able to be physically there. It would have made sense to make him play 10 minutes last wednesday and go with 7 dmen. But not now.
The media asked Therrien about it because Price let the cat out of the bag. The media, because of the drama queens that they are, then went on to ask Therrien about it and he had no choice but to answer their question honestly.
As for the 7 dmen, why would it have made sense to play 7 D on Wednesday but not now? He signed his contract on Monday and joined the team Wednesday morning where there was an optional skate (5-6 players showed up). He actually didn't get to see all of his teammates until AFTER the game. Not playing him on Wednesday was 100% justified. He then had his first team practice yesterday... He had one practice to learn the new system. Come on. Playing 7 Ds is obviously just a safety net for him.

Maybe Therrien isn't too sure which d-man is going to be in the press box so he wants to see them all today??? Kinda makes sense the more I think about it. He's giving each guy a chance to earn his spot.
I could handle Lucic easily...when he sleeps...with a baseball bat
The best way to handle Lucic is to not fight him and make him look stupid. Every team that tries to fight him ends up looking silly. Lucic has a very small wick when it comes to his temper and if you can make him explode he'll take bad penalty after bad penalty and do nothing on the score sheet.

I know the story. But let me ask some questions. Price went out of his way to go tell that to the media ? And he did it just because he felt like stirring up a controversy ?

Ok, if this had been Wayne Gretzky he would have been in uniform on wednesday night..
Considering we were playing our 2nd game in 2 nights, he could only have helped. Obviously, since he hadn't had time to practice with the team and didn't know the system, it would have made sense to play him less on wednesday and go with 7 D.
Now, he has practiced with his teammates, and he has to play at some point. He isn't some scrub prospect who needs to be eased into the NHL. And how do you explain that MT wasn't even sure if he would play ?
You don't want to see it, but there's something there. All of these little things add up to something else.
I heard he's a low-par 4th liner. Definitely a bash-your-brains type of addition to your team. The "heavyweight" we'd need, if we believe the thread about that.
Our own tough guys don't stand a chance. Let's just skate circles around him.

That was already confirmed since after Wednesday's game. He said he liked what he saw from Eller and would be keeping him on the Desharnais line. He also said he didn't want to start shuffling up the lines too much because things were going well.
