Chicago n Philly

Nick Leddy for Matt Read
Chicago gets a #2 C who can play in all situations and position on a cheap contract.
Philly gets a puck moving D-man to help on the PP

I wouldn't do it, I'd like to see Leddy in the Indian Head for at least another 5-7 years, I think he's going to be pretty good.

I'd do it!

Matt Read has been one of the positive highlights during the Flyers dismal opening games in this shortened season. Leddy would improve what the Flyers desperately lack. I'm not sure the Hawks management would like to part with such a promising defenseman who can move the puck....but we'll see what happens.

Flyers use him at wing, but he can play center.

He can play center and he's def not a #1,3 or 4 C so I guess. But I think it would cost the flyers a bit more

Flyers need to add a noticeable piece. I like Read but I think I'd want him as my second line center and a legit top 4 puck mover easily has more value.

No way. It just leaves us with a hole in a new spot.

I think Chicago is truckin' along nicely so far. They would need convincing that a trade is needed.

Otherwise they'll just keep what they have and let guys develop together.

No thanks. Leddy is looking great this year.

Defensive depth is arguably this team's greatest strength. No need mess with a good thing.

Read is not a C ,,, He is poor at faceoffs and been playing Wing for sometime now

If Flyers want a young PMD with alot of potential then they should talk to Hawks about Adam Clendening (Progressing well in AHL ,, An AHL allstar as 20 yr old 1st yr professional)

Having Leddy makes Clendening sorta pointless in coming years

I think Read is a bit underrated here. Nice complementary winger who has the versatility to play any forward position and can be a quality 20+ goal scorer in a normal length season. On the cheap too.

With that said he's best used as a second line winger and third line center substitute rather then a full time second line center. So Chicago shouldn't do it.
