Hemmer looked great because he was threatening shot and pushing into the shooting lane on his way into the zone. The 2nd line is leading this team this year.
Now lets see that exact same dynamic be created and converted five more times.
We are looking very poised today so far.
No adjustments needed at this point systemwise. They are really trying to skate it through the neutral zone and go through the middle, they are trying to retain possesion and draw penaltys, simply hitting the puck carrier headon in the neutral zone breaks this outlet. Line the puck carrier up and take him out just as he exits the neutral zone as they are telegraphing the system tendancy.
Looks like the refs dont like it when we play defensive hockey, start breaking their neutral zone rushes up before they turn this game around, dont let them collapse on our net as obviously the refs are targeting us in the scrums to offset our potent PP, its dirty but it is what it is. When you start seeing weak interference calls early in games like this you know one of the zebras has decided to run the game their way.
Discipline and knock that neutral zone rusher on his arse a few times and make them adjust.
Step up on the neutral zone rusher, stack two men when you do it so their zone flooding doesnt work, you fight the stack with the stack. And greelight Fistric to really lay one of them out, let him through the n-zone and funnel him to Fistric.
Someone needs to challenge Bordeleau with a stick to his teeth, not a fight, we need to tune him in in a serious way, and not with fists, we learned from the Boogeyman, slice him up or take out his knees. Do not let him hit Dubby like that again. lets see just how bad we want the two points and how bad we want to have a healthy goaltender at the end of the year. Take out this cro-magnon with some pain, no fights just bust him up, slash his hands get dirty.
