Thanks....
While we don't pretend to be an alternative to the scouting services (we consider ourselves more prospect profilers with a healthy splash of analysis given that we do see plenty of the prospects live as well), THW's The Next Ones series might be what you're looking for.

When possible we link up to scouting services like those mentioned in this thread.

Hey guys, I just love draft guide season!

We are really excited about the release of our 2013 NHL Draft Guide over at FC. I know it wont disappoint! A lot of hard work done by our scouts this year and I hope it shows with our guide.

I would just like to have a little shoutout to all the other scouting agencies out there while we are at it. I had to chance to interact with a lot of other scouts from independents over the course of the year and I know that all the other agencies are working hard at the rinks also. This is a very exciting time for all of us and I just wanted to congratulate all the other scouts out there that grinded it out all year long! We all may be competition, but all share a love and passion for the game that I am sure will show with the quality of all the guides out there! Cheers

When is the blackbook coming out?

Also, how long is McKeens report page wise?

I'll stay with FC this year but add one more to the list.

My thoughts exactly. FC is cheap enough I can get a second one (probably McKeen's this year) and that should be more than enough info for me.

Yeah I like FC as a magazine, but I also like having the giant freaking books of just stats and reports and all things like it. That's why I like the blackbook.

I purchased FC's last year, and was really happy it with it, this year I am going for FC again!

It's always nice that all of these scouting agencies/publishers/reports succeed. It's not an easy job and a costly one to maintain and have profits. Competition is always good and can only help.

Anyways, my point is that it's great to see different people buying different ones.

Sorry about the delay in responding. The Draft Guide is around 70 pages (almost finished!) and contains the top 120 for 2013, top 30 for 2014, top 10 for 2015, and top 4 for 2016.

Give the files about 10-15 minutes to show up via email.

do any of the guides stand out above the rest, if looked at strictly from a keeper fantasy perspective?

This year went with FC and ISS's guides. Will probably end up getting HP's Black Book as well.

FC's guide looks fantastic as usual and I love that it came with a printer friendly version. I haven't had a chance to dig into their scouting reports much yet but have been impressed with them in the past.

The ISS guide is the same as always; a bunch of odd errors and misspellings but IMO the most trustworthy scouting reports. This will probably be the last year I will purchase their draft guide because it's getting tough to justify spending $60 on it when I could get HP's Black Book for $20 less.

If you want a draft guide from a fantasy perspective I recommend picking up Dobber Hockey's prospect's report which comes out tomorrow. It covers this years draft as well as prospects from the past few drafts. I've bought it each of the past few years and it's been a huge help in my keeper league. You can buy it here.

Sorry again for the delay. We're hours away from it going live. It's several hundred pages (between 600-700 pages long) so we wanted to do our best to make sure there are no glaring issues. I have been at Windsor Spitfires Prospect Camp all day and Mark Edwards was at the NHL Combine so we were unfortunately unable to get it live earlier today. Thank you for your patience and hope you're as excited as we are.

Should be sitting in your inbox now. If not, PM me with your purchasing email.

That goes for all! If you purchased and don't yet have it, fire me off a PM and I'll get it addressed!

Hope those that do have it are enjoying it!

I hope to have the Black Book done before I go back to the combine in the morning. I'll work overnight right up until I leave. If I run out of time, it will be completed Saturday after the combine.

The good news about us being delayed this year, is I got to talk to a bunch of scouts this week about their player interviews. This means that for the first time ever we have incorporated combine week info into our book.

I got into last year that would have changed a couple of our rankings but it was too late. This year it's not.

Sorry for the delay this year. It's a huge book and took a little longer than we hoped. A couple of crashed computers didn't help either.

Bought it tonight, waited for it to arrive, and I must say...DEFINITELY worth it!

I loved, loved, loved it! You've just found a yearly customer! Huge fan of the work FC does, especially WHL scout Cody Nickolet!
