It's not in the heart of the city, but it's close enough. You can get to everything you need walking distance, and public transportation everywhere.

I kind of wouldn't like living in a complex because I wouldn't like the lack of privacy. It's kind of like living in the barracks when I was in the army - you hear everyone going in an out of their room, when they leave, when they come back, who they visit, what they bring in and out of their room, etc. That's clearly not the same as the apt's Ray is showing but I'd need like a trial period or something.

i really dont want to live in the city part, more of the suburbs or even rural areas. But I just want a place with nice weather, which is San Fran and San Diego.

For the most part, yeah... but for where we would be, we'd be right net to a train stop that would go directly to the places we would want to go in under 15 minutes. It really just depends where you are, because if you're far enough away from a stop (which most people are out here), you're just better off driving directly to where you want to go.

I think you're overstating it. It can be bad, but you can also take measures to fix the problem civilly.

I don't quite understand what you mean. How can every city have bad public transportation?

It's nice, but no where near top of the line. A 1 bedroom or studio at that place with 675 square feet will be about $1100/month. There are places down the street that are triple that and beyond. You can find some really great places to live for awesome prices out here.
