Knew that one of these missed chances would result in a ****** goal... should be 4 or 5 to 1 right now.

Lots of pressure, no finish. I'm ready for a new second line center and Ennis back on wing.

Did you just try to compare vanek to grigs. Getting a little too ahead of ourselves there.

He may have stayed out longer than the rest of the first unit, but he was definitely out there with them.

EDIT: Huh, I could have sworn I saw him, but the boxscore has Fogilno out there with 1st unit time.

I agree, that's dumb.

Agree sba.... last night I thought he was playing a tad lazy too, he isn't reacting to the puck movement as I would expect.. He needs some red bull...

He's not getting a ton of work. That's when you start getting bored and sloppy.

my view on vanek has been well known for many years. you are newer, so your view of my opinion is limited.

your also less capable of understanding that its possible to see all a players pros and cons.

i've been crystal clear that roy held vanek back, that's a view point i've been harping here for 5 years.

I don't think he's too slow for the league but I've noticed he's not adjusted to the speed and quickness of the NHL game yet. He thinks he has more time to make decisions/handle the puck than's really available.

I'm confident he's learning and he'll adjust.

I can vouch for this. While there were times where you certainly ripped on Vanek, there was always the caveat that TV was much better with Roy on the line.

Which reminds me, since getting put with Pommer the only thing that slows Vanek down is injuries
since being removed from Roy (all the way back to 2011), the only thing that slows vanek down is injuries (and an 82 game season )

Wow Foligno just can't receive a pass at all this game. Somebody needs to work with him on that in practice.

Is Hodgson playing the point on the 2nd unit? That would be the only reasoning I would accept for splitting up Vanek and Hodgson.

According to ice time Ehrhoff stayed out for both units and Leo was out there on the 2nd, so it appears not, at least in that case.

Jesus. ****ing defense. Grigs not picking up the guy in front.

You're probably right. In fact, it looks deliberate as if he's just trying to get a feel for the game. He had an easy goal though if he kept up with Stafford.

True, but he was busy last night before Enroth took over... He's one of the best goalies I've ever seen over the years but even the best must stay focused.
