Vanek is able to be the puck dominant player on a line that doesn't feature a puck dominant center (roy)... not recognizing the difference over the last 3 seasons is pure denial.
If I actually said that moving Roy away from Vanek wasn't why he surged, you would actually have a point. But I didn't.
I pointed out that FACTS. Vanek's surge was in direct correlation to Pommer pairing up with him after Roy got hurt. That means two things happened; Roy no longer was his center and Pommer was paired with him. But you and others hate Roy so much you only bring up one. Also Vanek/Roy/Pommer were never a line, so to say Hodgson is a better fit than Roy on this line is tough to do because Roy never centered those to. I'm not saying he isn't just that there is nothing to compare it to.
