Vancouver has the least cap room in the NHL, no way in hell can they get Ovechkin

I honestly don't know why any team would even want him. Such a waste of money and he kinda sucks now compared to the real OV.

Value and Cap looks about right... EDIT: Sorry missed Ballard.

Even looking at the Caps situation it's probably not a bad move. Ballard has been great this year.

So a 3rd liner and a backup goalie. If that was the asking price he'd have been in TO before the season started.

I would be beyond stoked if the Canucks got Ovechkin. They wouldn't get past round 1 for the next 10 years, and would probably miss the playoffs semi often after 5 years in. One line+bad ahlers would basically be the team given the money spent on defense and goaltending.

Maybe on a new team he would be able to get back to his old self. He's had 3 different coach's in less than 2 years so it might be good for him to get into a new environment. Put him with the Sedins and he could flourish.

We win the cup and then don't give a ****, just cut everyone and use the Chicago Wolves as our team going forward.

Whatever new environment you put him in, he will not live up to that contract and it would be more detrimental than good.

Simply put, he was the best player in the league a few years ago

and it would still be really cool but unwise

In the real world, teams aren't run like that.

I think Mike Green could also be a target.

A new environment is good, but it says a lot about a player if he doesnt even look like he's trying when he's being paid 9.5 mill a year. Luongo always tries his hardest no matter what. Even though he has had a few meltdowns he will always try his hardest. I think OV's done. If it is motivational problems, then he should see the best damn sports psychologist that money can buy.

Washington
Roberto Luongo

Vancouver
Mike Green

Vancouver can move Edler back to the left side, and move Ballard later on.

No thanks, Mike Green is far too risky imo. Wahington would have to add.

Brouwer does not have to be a Canuck to be hated. Any fan base who has seen their respective team play against him for any length of time despises the guy.

Hell, Canuck fans hate the guy.

I think he's done too, to be honest, but I really would like to see a blockbuster trade soon.

How about Laich? Not in a Luongo trade, but if the Caps blow it up, he should be available for futures.

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Schroeder-Kesler-Booth
Burrows-Laich-Hanse
Higgins,Raymond,Weise, Malhotra, Lappiere, Volpatti

We've got a plethora of LHS D-men. No to Schultz.
