So Ryan O'Reilly's officially never playing for the Avs again. They're looking for a top prospect and a roster player. Discuss.

What about sending Braun/Demers, Clowe, and maybe a pick or prospect to the Flyers for Simmonds and another forward? If the Sharks get another NHL forward out of the deal I would look to dump Galiardi, Handzus, and/or Burish wherever possible.

Doubt they make a move.

They need more anger and meetings first.

Flyers have no reason to trade Simmonds with Hartnell out.

Yes, we need more playmaking minded centers. Don't have enough of those guys already.

If our playmaking minded forwards were playing center, you'd have a point. Unfortunately, most of them are playing wing. lol

I'd love to get O'Reilly on this team. He is my kind of player. Very good defensively and offensively with size and good speed. That is the type of guy I want going against top competition. If there was anyway to get him without giving up Hertl, Burns, Vlasic, and Couture I'd do it.

Joe, Joe, and Couture are all pass first centers. Clowe and Havlat are also pass first guys.

Pavs will shoot first depending on the situation, Jumbo is pass first pass second pass third center, Couture is a shooter first most times. You got Clowe and Havlat right.

This. They are always trying to make the pretty pass or pretty play. They don't want to make it simple. Step 1 Get Traffic. Step 2 Put Shots ON Net. Step 3 Crash/Drive the net. Step 4 recover the puck. Yet the PP unit always tries to get a pretty tic tac toe goal or a cross crease one timer goal. Give the goalies hell in front of the net. They can't stop it if they don't see it. I'd love to see a Sharks game where they OUTWORK the oppenent to win the game.

Because your 4 step plan is a horrible PP strategy. It could work ES when the other team is actually trying to get on the transition, but when the opposition's only goal is to clear the puck, just throwing shots on the net isn't a good idea.

You have to move your feet to do that. They are passing up shots..the D are holding the pucks way too long..offense is a mess.

Actually it is a good strategy. Tons of PP goals are scored by getting a shot through from the point with traffic at the net.

And to put shots on net (especially from the point), you need quick passes or else they'll get blocked. It's not as simple as "just put shots on net".

Yeah moving your feet is a big part too. All it seems they do is move the puck around the perimeter on the PP then they force a bad pass and the puck is cleared.

That requires getting the shot through. The D are sometimes either late with a shot or too stationary. Quick shots with traffic is the key.
