I guess you missed the bad outlet pass to Crosby in our own zone that almost cost them a goal today.

It's speaks volumes. That "middle" pair has been awesome. Orpik and Martin are really shutting opponents down well. Bylsma does have to be careful though. It's a short, compacted season. Don't want to run those guys into the ground.

For everyone who is wondering what happened to the Caps? Why are they so bad all of a sudden? Well Pens fans, I'd say be careful what some of you wish for. Caps fans wanted Budreau gone, and the Caps haven't been the same since. However, Budreau has the Ducks killing it right now.

Hum what about getting the Art Ross with Fedotenko and Talbot??

A fantastic win today. I really thought we were going to lose it near the end though because Washington kept having lots of chances. Thankfully Vokoun was comfortable and able to stop them.

I really like our Defense this year.

How do secondary assists work? I thought it was the last 2 people to touch the puck or make a play on the puck. I cannot understand how Ovechkin got an assist on their last goal. Just curious.

Home cooking, phantom assists!

Agree with you 100%, but I hope that Disco will go back to Despres now. The right adjustment was made, message was sent, but show him that you trust him.

Backstrom never touched it, Brouwer's pass deflected off Engelland to Ribeiro.

I did notice the official highlights took out Ovechkin going after Adams though and taking the penalty. It was in there a few hours ago.

That's where I got the inspiration of the title. It was hilarious when the television shot was just one single hat on the ice. It was just poetic...even though more came down later.

I'm thinking the two battles will be Despres/Nisky and Bort/Engo for spots. I think Niskanen and obviously Engo have the spots, but those seem like fair battles to me.

I love what Orpik/Martin are doing. I just don't believe Martin can play this way in the postseason. I just don't. I think that's more nerves from what happened last season instead of rational thought.

I would love to see Bort/Engo in the postseason clearing out. They fit that mold. But Niskanen has shown he deserves to be there. So has Despres. Man.. I just can't make up my mind. We have 7 very good defenders.

Sykora actually lit it up for a good while that season before his late season slump that got him benched for much of the end of the regular season and playoffs.

Makes sense then.. Only saw 1 replay. Though, the assist was well-deserved after keeping the puck in.

Sykora was good until he lost his PP spot to Kunitz

That's not who he played with the entire season.

At times it was.

Dupuis, Malkin, Sykora<<<Here for a half of a season or more
Dupuis, Malkin, Satan
Fedotenko, Malkin, Sykora
Fedotenko, Malkin, Dupuis
Fedotenko, Malkin, Talbot
Dupuis, Crosby, Malkin<<yes we ran a second line of Feds, Staal, Sykora for at least a game. Game #7 Oct. 20th

Crosby and Malkin played a good bit together here and there until Kunitz and eventually Guerin came.

Fedotenko also played stints on the 3rd and 4th lines.

Talbot wasn't really a fixture on Malkins line until late in the season into the playoffs.

Malkin and Sykora had insane chemistry until Sykora got injured.

Edit: CH got it in first.

I think Martin will be OK. I know what you're saying, but he's a good player, he's only had one bad year. He's playing with confidence and isn't getting physically manhandled regularly. His shot even looks better! He said he worked on getting stronger this off-season, maybe he's actually done it.

Did anyone go back and see who scored that first goal? It sure looked like it should of been Kunitz. Did anyone slow mo it and see who's stick deflected it in? I thought he should of had 4 goals.

He said he added 10 pounds from working out so that is a big differance. Plus Martin was a top 20 dman in the league for several years with the Devils. I thought he actually played pretty well his first year with the Pens and was one of the reasons we still finished near the top without Crosby or Malkin that season.

The announcers (Doc and Edzo) said they looked at it and it was Martin's goal. They seemed very sure about it based on their tone.

I feel the same way. My brain keeps having flashbacks - doesn't change his urgency to suit the situation...

Bort and Despres' size and speed look great on the blueline. We seem to play bigger.

He probably saw your avatar and rededicated himself during the lockout to perfecting his elite poke-check. Eggs Martin is en fuego.

Sorry didn't listen to the post game interviews. Just going by what the announcers were saying but Kunitz certainly would know if it hit him or not.
