Bad calls from the refs all game long. A lot of phantom penalties including the goalie interference call against the Sens. As a Habs' fans, I am happy of the little assistance from the refs.

Lol nah I don't think that's it. Being a Bruins fan, me thinking the refs were biased for MTL in MTL seemed irrational even to me because of my bias, but when Lavi said something (and didn't Torts?) there's obviously something behind the reputation even if it's exaggerated like most reputations are.

I don't see how the NHL can get away without even explaining today's no goal call and the 2 in the Bruins/Leafs game. Ridiculous.

Coach's challenge would be sweet, but what if the refs still **** it up ? Would seriously drive a lot of people over the edge.

Still can't believe how terrible that call was.

weak. and the crazy thing is there were multiple calls this game weaker than that. But luckily they didn't nullify a goal. Although the GI call on Pleks was as weak and Ottawa scored a PPG. But that's not the point, the reffing this year is the worst ever.

I would have been completely okay to lose that in OT. Damn...I need to go and do something to take my mind off it.

A Bruins fan posted this. That's weird.

How does a goalie getting clobbered away from the net influence calls like that? Doesn't make any sense at all.

So I hope Maclean doesn't say anything.
The refs have their own disciplinary body, we just don't get to hear about how it works (which I fully understand and am fine with)

But there needs to be some kind of acknowledgement by the NHL that this was inexcusable and that they are going to look into ways to address the issue of horrible goal calls.

There will always be bad calls but when it comes to goal/no-goal calls I think they should review them automatically: if it's obvious the war room won't take long to make the call and they are usually pretty good (like the refs they make mistakes, but they would have made today's goal count)

EDIT: and you certainly do NOT want to make some kind of public shaming event with the ref, we don't need to scare the refs into not making calls because of fear of reprisal, that would be even worse.

The Habs had a lot of penalties that were undeserved. So did the Sens.

And then THIS? Oh my God this game was embarrassing.

The refs this season have been the worst i've ever seen and God knows there's been awful periods for these guys. They give penalties for people blowing their noses. Maybe their affraid of another dead puck era so they multiply the PPs?

No. They lost because Montreal was the better team on ice.

It's a BS call... I'd be steaming mad if it happened to the Habs. Even worse mistake because it's a shortened season... Hope it doesn't happen again.

But it's such a quotable line.

Does lose it's luster without Laviolette's expression though.

Exactly. Obviously if we had gotten that call in our favour we'd be on top of the world but at the end of the day how can you have a competitive world-class league when the reffing is so inconsistent/slopping/disgraceful that games can't be played to their potential and score sheets aren't 100% representative of a team's effort?

And now Weekes tries to defend some of the horrid goalie inference calls. At least he admitted this one was "bad."

For the first period and a half, not the last period and a half thank you very much. Right around the time we tied it and they called it back I thought the Sens were better.

I thought Bruins fans of all fanbases would be smarter than that in regards to 'biased' officiating. How many times have players called you guys out over the years? You and I both know that referees aren't purposely biased towards a team, they usually just flat out suck. If I, as a habs fan, can truthfully agree the Bruins get bashed on for no reason and undeservedly when it comes to refereeing then I expect an honest opinion from your fanbase too. And if your honest opinion is that the habs always get biased calls then that is disappointing.

BS call for sure. 100% Habs fans agree with this one. Though, it's not like the refs were great all night long and then decided to screw the Sens....They were awful FOR BOTH TEAMS, so awful, they should be fine. Check the boarding call on Gorges and have fun....But a dissallowed goal, in the 3rd, is obviously harsher to take I know. If it would have happened to us, I would have been out of my mind right now. Just fire those 2 clowns.

Playing well does not win games. Scoring more goals than the other team does. There is a direct link between the terrible call and the loss.
