Best Trade In Team History: Buffalo

Anaheim: Chad Kilger, Oleg Tverdovsky, picks for Teemu Selanne, Marc Chouinard, picks (1996)
Boston: Barry Pederson for Cam Neely, 1987 1st round pick (Glen Wesley) (1986)

While I will never agree with the Boston selection (seriously? Cam Neely over Phil Esposito?) I have to abide by the poll results. Shape up, guys, pay attention to history.

This one should be a landslide.

Somehow i did not even see the Boston Poll. Had to go and check it. I was honestly a bit chocked that Esposito trade did not win. I also would probably take Bourque over Neely too. But not the place to discuss it. Just odd that Esposito would lose to anyone.

This poll is obviously Hasek.

Hasek was a beast in net... Wish there was someone currently playing with a similar playing style as him.

I could propose arguably worst trade. Is when Buffalo matched Edm offer to Vanek in 2007. I really don't think that with him Edmonton would be so much better. Think about 3 top-5 draft picks instead of Vanek

Hasek for sure. Of note though: the pick we got in the Briere deal turned into Andrej Sekera. If we hadn't let Danny B walk in free agency (or if we'd been able to win the cup with him), that trade might be pretty high in the rankings too.

Obvious answer.

The second best trade I think is the Lafontaine one.

LOL yeah.

These two should be on there though (certainly over Hecht):
Wilson for Warrener and 5th (Miller)
Grosek for Gilmour and Dumont

Could also make the argument for Housley, Arniel, Parker, 1st (Tkachuk) for Hawerchuk and 1st (May)

The Wilson trade was an absolute fleecing. Warrener-McKee was our best D-pairign in the 1999 run, and Miller is self-explanatory. And the Grosek deal just on pure value (thanks Chicago...again )...

But it's all just a race for 2nd place. Obviously the Hasek trade.

Almost went with the Housley trade. Remember him being a real gem when I was a kid... but really... nothing compares to the dominator and they gave up next to nothing for him.
