Does Komarov stay?

I'm assuming he makes a significant amount more in Europe then he does here, while playing a much more depended on role. Does he stay to continue playing 4th line minutes making approx 1.2 million a year?

I'm thinking he does stay, he seems to have the personality that would be attracted to being on the big stage. Obviously I hope he stays but I can see him being drawn home again, after all he did wait a long time before making the jump.

Thoughts?

Prior to the season, he said he didn't want retire and be asked why he never played in the NHL. He wanted to prove he could play in the top league in the world.

He's done that and seems to have enjoyed himself too, but he's an exceptionally popular player in Moscow and KHL teams will likely offer him quite a bit more money than the Leafs could offer a player of his calibre (3rd/4th liner).

I think he stays, but the staying/going odds are probably close to 50/50.

I really think he likes it in Toronto, and in the NHL. I remember him saying something about not getting anywhere near as much media attention in Europe

How much more can the KHL pay for a non marqee player? I would not think he makes $2 million over there. I would like him back, just to see if he could improve. If he just dialed back the hitting a bit so he wasn't pulling himself out of the play as much I think he would have decent offense.

I think Komarov has more to give and I think he will want to give it with the Leafs.

I really hope he stays, but I wouldn't be mad at him if he decided to go back to Russia.

I like him.

I think he has more to give offensively.

He is already a steady physical and defensive presence.

I'd rather have him on the ice than the blue bombers...

Never really thought he wouldn't be back, but now thinking of the potential allure of the KHL, I hope we can convince him to stay.

I would like to see him stay, as I consider myself a Leo Komarov guy. I can't say for certain how much money I'd be comfortable with the Leafs paying him to stay, but I'd rather have him as a bottom 6 millionaire than Colton Orr.

Love to have him back. His value to the PK is understated.

From what I understand he wants to play in the NHL. He only went back to Russia during the lockout because he was making several hundreds of thousands more in Russia than he was on the Marlies.

Great 4th liner. If we could find another player just like him for the other wing, a line of Komarov - Jay - Komarov clone would be great.

really want him to stay
we don't really have a replacement (hard hitting pest) + he's awesome
not to mention he probably has some more offensive potential to show us next year

I see Ross more in the role of a Marchand but wouldn't mind him being a Komarov.

That would be a failure in developing Biggs if all he turns out to be is a 4th liner.
