Awesome Gameday.

I never like our chances against Vancouver. Without Belanger and Horc I really don't like our odds. Few guys will need to step up if we are going to win this one.

We have the advantage in that we get to line-match in this game. Defensive zone faceoff versus the Sedin's? Put out Horcoff. Anytime their second line is put out there, you play RNH line or Gagner line. They're very beatable if you play the matchup game like they do. Just make sure Whitney-Fistric is nowhere near the Sedin's and it should be manageable. Also - we can't afford to take as many PP's versus this team.

Vancouver will treat this like a playoff game and will want revenge for the opening night loss, the Oilers better be on their game from the beginning or they will be in tough. They need all the points that they can get especially at home before that killer road trip in March which will likely make or break their season.
**** moral victories. Just Win Baby!!!

Oilers gotta do what ever it takes to avoid a three game losing streak. This is gonna be a tight game, but I will give the Oilers the edge since we're back at home. But if they're still bagged from the road trip or get into penalty trouble early this could be a very long night.

I feel really good today.
I think its the weather.

Please don't ruin it for me, Oilers.

Even a point would be nice.

Nice GDT.

Canucks are still missing two players of our top six (booth and Kesler) forwards and Garrison is still adjusting to top pairing minutes in our D. Burrows is centering the 2nd line and we have a rookie centering our third line, Schroeder, looking for his first goal.

Lou has been lights out, Kassian has shown some great hands, but the Sedins have been very ordinary so far. Our PP has sputtered out of the gate...so staying out of the box might not be as big a concern for you guys as usual.

We have played a bit better recently but are still far off what Canuck fans would accept as top level performance.

I think it will be another close one, but if we have to go to a shootout, we are in trouble.

In the games ,its easy to see! In offensive zone, Daniel only cycling 5 laps around the boards, when Henrik do 8 laps.

Horcoff has to be ready... otherwise recalling MPS instead of a centre is a brutal move...

MPS-Lander-Hartikinen
Hordichuk??-Smyth??-Petrell

If Horcoff is ready than at least our bottom six looks respectable again..

Smyth-Horcoff-Petrell (please be Petrell and not Hordichuk..)
MPS-Lander-Hartikinen

This is a big game for us coming off two losses... We need a HUGE effort by the first line tonight.. They are getting tons of scoring chances 5on5 but are not capitalizing on any of them.. RNH seems snake bitten around the net..

I am predicting 4-2 Canucks unfortunately... This is a big character test for the kids and I think they come up short..

Great GDT.

I agree that this is a huge game for us. If the Oilers lose tonight I could see us going on a bit of a slide, which could be disaster for our playoff hopes in a short season. Here's hoping we scrape out a W.

There will be a game where we break out offensively. It would be awesome if that game was tonight. Going on a nice little streak right now would be huge for us considering who the next few opponents are. Hopefully we get a win and hold them to no points.

Gotta win this one. Kesler will probably be back soon and effective three weeks from now so we need to take points from the Canucks while we can.

That is awesome. I swear, there aren't many players in the league who take a weirder picture than Kassian.

Nice OP, as well - very well done.

Looking forward to a good game tonight. I've seen Yakupov's name/face in highlight reels of late, usually accompanied by criticism (unjustified, IMO - those celebrations were warranted and pretty awesome). Of course, I'd rather he not have a reason to bust out a new one against us tonight...

Good luck tonight, all.

Is Horcoff actually good to go? I thought I had heard he wasn't. If not I think it'll be Petrell centering Smyth and Hordi as the 4th.
