The 3 stars, chosen by YOU, the fans!

How much longer do the Habs wanna keep going with this way of choosing the 3 stars of the game?
I feel that some players who would normally deserve a star will forever be forgotten with the way it works now.
I also feel that it makes us look, more often than not, as a bunch of homers.
Not that I think the Molson cup is a big deal anyways!

Discuss!

Non issue. Let the fans celebrate who they want.

I hear these 3 stars creates a lot of drama in the locker room, especially when it's Subban who gets 1st star.

Get rid of it imo. The fans are turning it into a popularity contest not the three best players in the game.

I would prefer if it came back to the old way with a journalist

Why not return to the old ways, but include a fan star of the game (3 stars and one fan star)?

about as meaningful as All-star voting. Not very.

The gimmicks put in place to "engage" the casual fan look strange to the hardcore fan, but such is the world in 2013.

The only people that ever cared about the three stars.
The fans and the media.
I think Jose Theodore was the only player who looked very happy about winning the Molson trophy at the end.

So I say, leave it as is.

It's such a non-issue that it is isn't even close to being a non-issue.
Like.. is Erik Cole's skate blade the reason why he's not productive, is a bigger non issue than this.

I just find it unfair that some deserving players (who might've gotten stars in the old sportswriters method) will never get any credit, or get the chance to get recognized by the fans. Eg, not sure if Gorges, or Bouillon, will get a star this season!

How can they ever go back now that theyve let the fans decide?

"Hey we just realised that fans are idiots so Red Fisher is back to picking the stars".

just confirms my doubt that the fans dont know what they are talking about. They watch hockey 82 games per year for decades yet they are still a bunch of morons when it comes to evaluate who was the best player in a game. What about a little bit of rigor?

The fans. Yes because 2000 people voting represents everyone's opinion. If all the fans voted, you'd get a much different result. Guaranteed.
