Large # of tickets available Sunday

Wow. Just went on ticketmaster and there's hardly any seats sold for Sunday.

Will that.... change? Big walk up?

Kind of worried, honestly. A half filled Coliseum is just pathetic for this game when the Isles can go 5-2, and vs. the Devils no less.

Thoughts?

*And yes I do understand that it's Superbowl Sunday, but does that really change? Hockey fans are hockey fans.

Agreed.

Going to be weird to see nobody there for this type of game I had these visions of the Coliseum shaking Sunday after this type of road trip.

Dot dot dot.......

That stinks. But I mean what were they expecting. Its the superbowl, most people are going to parties or throwing parties. Its a shame that its going to be that empty, but the Isles should have requested the date of this game to be changed.

Superbowl. Only an hour between game ending and game time. It was never going to happen.

The probably would have been better off starting the game at 1 or 2

Agreed. The Islanders probably envisioned this (and are promoting it) as a giant pre-game party. I think its silly. Superbowl Sunday is essentially a holiday. People, families, groups of friends all have their own little traditions by now.

3 other games on the slate that day also..1 is a no brainer Sens @ Habs. The Penguins visit the Caps but that is the NHL on NBC at 12:30. The other games is another 3pm start Panthers @ Sabres. Since i love looking up useless facts, the day the NHL schedule was released was January 12th and coincidentally that was the final sunday in the NFL. Out of the teams playing this sunday only Washington had a shot of making the playoffs. All of the Florida teams were eliminated (Miami,Jacksonville and Tampa) as well as Pittsburgh and of course the Jets and Giants. After i just finished this i just realized that Baltimore is in Maryland and I am to tired to edit = )

Yea, A 3pm start time is terrible on SB Sunday. Was the same thing last season. The Isles are running promos to get people in the NVMC. I took advantage of a facebook promo for $25 a seat for endzone seats in a low row. Was a good deal

Plenty of time to get home for the SB. Although I really dont give a crap about it. In fact, I hate that that the SB is on Sundays. Saturday would be ideal, as most folks are off Sunday.

More people care about a regular season football game then a NHL playoff game.. It's the Super Bowl a lot of people have parties.. I for one will be having people over to watch the isles game then turn it over to the Super Bowl. I never thought they had a chance to sell this one out or even come close..
