So having a guy like Backes is going to be worth soo much more then a RNH that can oly score and win face off.
Well, to be fair Nuge will also be getting more offensive points than Backes and he plays in just as many situations as him.
Just curious, Raptactics. Does CBC allow for weighted points? Personally I believe that offensive points should be weighted more and hits/blocked shots should be a bonus. Like MN19 said hard to change things now but if we were to do it better now then never.

I dont agree with this one bit, this completely depletes the goal of having every player equal that we strived to achieve before the league started.
I find myself torn on the issue. The only thing that isn't quite right about the current set up is that a guy who only scores goals isn't really anymore valuable than a guy who only gets hits. Yet their salaries would not be at all commensurate.

I'd also like to add that we need to keep the personal attacks to a minimum. We're doing this for fun guys. I want to win this as badly as anyone, but at the end of the day this is a fun distraction.
I agree with having hits and blocked shots being important. I'd be a lot less interested in being in this pool if it wasn't.
That said, I know it's late to change it, but what if goals and assists and wins (for goalies) were worth 2 each and everything else was worth 1?
See, this is why I'm leaving the points category.. so goals and assist do count twice. Also, even if they did count as 2 they'd still be counted the same. This isn't a points league.. it's a head to head league where you try and win as many categories as you can against your opponent. There are 16 categories.. you try and beat your opponent in as many of them as you can. Not gonna count the goals category as two wins.. that's retarded. Sure, it can be argued goals are more important than hits and blocked shots but not always. Sometimes a huge hit changes an entire game.. a lot like a late period goal or an early period goal when you're down by two. A big blocked shot can also change the game.. or even prevent that goal that would've put a team up by 3 in the third period. This is what I mean when I say that this league will capture those little things that don't show up on the score sheet. Also, how important is that 5th goal in a 5-1 game? Or the 2 empty betters a team scores in the final minute of a game a team must win to make the playoffs. Not every goal is a game winner. Oh.. game winning goals is a category too I might add.

I don't care about the scoring system per se, however I have been drafting based upon the scoring that was set up originally, and feel that a redraft would be in order if the scoring was to also be reset. Can't do one and not the other.

You know what, I had heard you speaking about removing points calling them redundant. If we're keeping points as well as goals and assists, that's exactly what I would hope. So goals and assists matter a little bit more than the other categories, but not a lot. Cool.

^this. I want to be part of a league that everyone is a part of. The less drama the better, we are all experienced and have been on here for a long time (some more than others). Disagreements should not start causing drama.
also, I agree the scoring should NOT change from when we start. If I would have known hits and PIMs were worth so much I would have drafted Perry over Lundqvist though, but that was more a personal decision.
Consistency, Activity, and Discussion. Those are the 3 keys for this thing to be successful.
Why would we want every player to be equal? Why even have a draft if every player is equal?
Just randomize players onto every team and we'll reconvene in September
Every individual player brings a unique skill set to their team. And to just make this league for offensive players that would be doing the defensive guys an injustice
