Sheldon Souray's resurgence

90% of this board bashed Anaheim for signing him
well so far he has been looking like the old MTL Souray. he's been great defensively, his rocket of a shot is as good as ever and is doing a really good job killing penalties,
3 goals 5 points +5 and playing about 23 minutes per game since being paired with Beauchemin

Now Bryan Allen sucks, feel free to bash that one

Was about to reply that Murray countered a great signing with a dreadful one in Allen. I wouldn't call it a return to MTL (28 goal) form but he's looked real good. That shot is still scary. His wrist shot is stronger than most slappers.

Really liked Souray in dallas, however( not trying to rain on your parade) he started off looking pretty damn good in Dallas too. Soon everyone will have him covered, he started to look slow, took bad penalties, and got injured. I wish him success though. Seemed like a great team guy in Dallas. Good to see him doing well

He started hot with us(Stars) as well but then slowly got worse and worse as the season went forward.. The shot is there but the legs might not be after 35+ games..

I'm encouraged because even though he's pretty slow he's making alot of great plays with his stick, wins battles, strong in front of the net and making smart first passes and man i love watching him shoot the puck

He's been great. We all know he can't really skate, but he hasn't been exposed. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Allen on the other hand is ****ing horrible. ****

I too loved watching Souray shoot. Every time his shot comes up I am reminded of this little clip. Always good for a chuckle(if you ignore the obnoxious fans talking).

Edit: Apparently I dont know how to embed a youtube video, but the video in question is found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCsA0nfAXnw

To be fair, Anaheim fans said that as much as anyone else's fans. I recall a couple Ducks fans hitting up the Buy-Outs thread to suggest Anaheim might buy-out Souray before he'd even played a game.

I hope he does have a real resurgence, but I also recall a thread like this popping up for Dallas last year and their tune changed by the end of the year.

Send a message via ICQ to Professor John Frink
Also I think I should point out people tended to bash the amount and length of the signing much more than they bashed Souray's skill set.

At this point he is playing above expectations, however I find it hard to believe this will still be the case 2 years down the road.

Dating Kelly Kelly would do that for Souray.

3 years for a 36 year old seemed a bit much.

Maybe Teemu can share a little bit from his fountain of youth.

Think it's a bit early for this type of thread. We don't really need to be making all these threads drawing attention to us on the main boards do we?

Bit early, but it's always entertaining watching Souray shoot. Everyone gets out of the way, and half of them flinch.

Funny because 99% of Ducks fans bashed it. I honestly think I was one of the few who didnt say things like "good thing there will be an amnesty buyout".

He has been great in the defensive zone and infront of the net. That shot....
