Haha. This. Most of these players have suffered a concussion at some point. Its hard to avoid it playing at the highest level in your age group with other young kids.
What about Darcy Ashley...undrafted and playing in the shadows of Drouin & McKinnon and still put up 25 goals thus far . He is small , feisty and can fly . He was also just awarded the Dickie's award for being the hardest working player in the Q league a week ago and IMO that is quite an honor . Who knows...he could be a Marchand lite clone .

Really small overager. I would not say in shadows of those great players, but he makes the most of his oppurtunities against 2nd pair opposition. I'm sure he's a hard worker, but he'd have to be exceptional at it to survive in the Pro game.

These are a few guys mentioned in THN a couple of months ago that might be of interest to us.
New England prospects:
1. Tyler Hill, LW , Hotchkiss, CT - Models game after Eric Lindros and has the mean streak and talent needed to be a top player.
2. Eddie Elliss, LW , Phillips-Andover, MA- Hard-working power forward has great vision, soft hands.
3. Thomas Aldworth, C , Cushing, MA - Mid-Sized speedster. Has some listing him as the top prospect out of New England. Another scout claimed might be the best skater since Chris Kreider, NYR.
Minnesota Prospects:
1. Connor Hurley, C, Edina, MN - Offensive force also spent time with Team USA. Headed to Notre Dame. I know he's been mentioned here before.
2. Parker Reno, D, Edina, MN - Thick at 6' 2",190 pounds. Reno has the physical makeup of a pro and can put up points in a playmaking role.
3. Teemu Kivihalme, D, Burnsville, MN - Finish-American skates like Phil Housley. Has the offensive chops, though sometimes plays like a wild stallion that needs to be reined in.
2013 draft, we have a 2nd and 4 3rd round picks plus our 4th and 6th. These players fit the Rangers MO and we have been drafting from MN and NE lately. Maybe a few of these guys might peek the interest of Gordie and Gorton.
Any personal or inside information on any of these players would be much appreciated.

I am hoping the Rangers go for some more skilled players and a few players who can bring the pain. Would be nice to have young players who can intimidate and create momentum via hits and physical play on the lower lines. They have to be able to skate though.
Current rules regarding exclusive negotiating rights for College Players will remain status quo. Parties to incorporate NHL/NHLPA Agreement on College Players leaving college prior to graduation (but following the fourth June 1 after date of Draft) (i.e., Goepfert Letter Agreement).
Nobody knows what is in the Goepfert Letter Agreement. That deals with the players who play in the USHL or BCHL after being drafted and they leave school after 3 years. Justin Schultz/Blake Wheeler. 4th June. Anders Lee is one of those guys.
The August 15 deadline for players whose class graduates is the same.
Right now we are at 49 contracts MSC is signed and will count against the 50 number next year. As will Josh Nicholls
Most likely Sam Noreau and Shane McColgan will also get ELCs this offseason
A big ?? is Peter Ceresnak IMO. Might have a very late development curve as is the case with many bigger players. Scouts saw something when he was picked for sure. I think he will not be signed though.
The NCAA College kids (Skjei, Nieves, Fogarty) will most likely stay in school another year, at least...
Do not see us signing any of the unsigned Euros in the org either this year (Fast & Lindberg are already signed and will both be here for camp - maybe earlier) Mats Zuccarello is of course a big ???
So we will most likely not have many new contracts given to our own draft picks for next season

This means - pending other roster action that you know is going to happen - that we would have something like 53 minus 10 spots = 43 signed contracts for next year.
I could therefore see us take a flyer on 2-4 names listed below here (or other unknowns), all of course depending on what happens in general. In addition - we would likely sign 3 - 5 names as free agents (or through trades) for filling up the NYR & CT Whale rosters.
CT is going to have a young and interesting makeup next year. That is for sure.
DeKeyser - seems like he chooses his destination. Apparently has high ceiling - but will ne choose NYR? Likely not... Sustr - was a Ranger camp invitee. Gargantua Kjell Samuelsson reincarnated? Definitely intriguing and a possibility Laganiere - Big guy. Montreal bound? Interesting name though... Lain - has history with Jean. Center. Want!

Wouldn't mind Dane Fox in here. We would def need a goalie somewhere And IMO Forsberg and Idoff are on the shorter end of the stick. I think there are better available goalies than them like Hartzell or Grosenick.
