I heard that Busted Open interview on Friday...didn't know the backstory to why Bruno and the WWE had a falling out. I'd take more solice in them the cleaning up the product because a legend thinks it needed to versus them doing it for Linda's campaign. It was interesting to hear what it took to get him back in...I wonder if the WWE keeps it up after they get him inducted (or while he's still alive).
I believe that Bruno had a problem with the attitude era stuff. The swearing, scantily clad women etc. He felt wrestling didn't need that. That's what I've read anyways.
I also believe he may have had a problem with how the WWE treated his son David Sammartino.
I gotta think Bruno's getting a really nice pay day for this, because it's been a huge embarrassment for the WWE to not have him in its HOF.
Can't remember where I read it (maybe on these forums), but Sammartino is apparently getting a multi-year, seven figure deal from WWE. I bet that has more to do with him accepting the HOF induction than any change in the WWE product.
